I was mortified at first. It helped me to realize that everyone is human. I no longer look at anyone as if they are above me, outside my religion.

So when you say that, do you mean that Christ is above you or that your church leaders are above you? (I'm assuming you're Christian, I think you've mentioned it).

I mean that Christ is above me. The elders in the church are guides, leaders, and have specific authority. I wouldn't say they were above me.

Alright. Just curious.

That depends on your definition of 'decent'. I consider a level 1 toon with its default gear as 'decently' geared.

How can you be largely against government interference in people's lives and the economy, but yet want to tell women what to do with there bodies. For the same reason I believe there should be laws against murder. Abortion isn't just what happens to a woman's body, but also that of her unborn child. You want more children born in this world, but yet you don't support any of the programs that they need, welfare, schools, etc. Not only are these programs not necessary to support children, but they usually cripple the government with excessive costs of unsuccessful programs.

So what you're saying is that kids don't need school, and in fact school is
crippling
? I would think, since to be productive a child needs education, that's hardly crippling.

Kids need school. Kids don't need government run schools where unions call the shots, holding the voting population hostage for pay raises in a dwindling economy. Schools where academics are determined by a standard testing score, and not a child's strengths. Schools where the teacher who has been there the longest gets a raise, not the teacher who works the hardest to make sure kids learn.
Schools are great. Government control of schools is not. Can't people see more than two options? If the only grocery stores were government controlled grocery stores, where the food sucked, and someone suggested that the government shouldn't run them, would you question that person in the same manner?

Why do you believe in God, when we don't necessarily need a creator.
1) Life is much more meaningless if there is not eternity for me.
2) When my wife smiles at me, it's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. The feeling it gives me is indescribable. A smile like that, a feeling like the one I get, cannot be accident. Only something of infinite wisdom and love could have created it.

But it all was an accident, so why delude yourself like that?
This is gaining a bit of a troll scent. I'll entertain it, but tread more carefully in the future.
I don't believe it was an accident, just as you believe it was an accident. Neither one of us is deluding ourselves, that is just a difference in who we are.

I'm not trying to troll, I just don't get why people have the need to believe in some greater being.
I don't think anyone can explain it to you in the way you are looking to hear it. This is the mistake that many religions make.

I guess so, I generally don't care that much about religions until they affect how a government runs.
Then leave others beliefs alone.

I disagree. If 80% of a democracy is Christian, then Christianity should affect the government. After all, that's how the voters feel. Never, should a government dictate to a religion.
