Hi all,
I was just wondering what exactly focus is in World of Warcraft, as some of my teammates in arena have been telling me to "focus , and use a macro to silencing shot them" (my main is a hunter).
Does anyone know what focus means, how to utilize it, and a macro for silencing shot, ect.? Thanks. /confused ><
Very simple :O)
make a macro for /focus - that will make your target focus, you can now target another guy
then make another one with /target focus /cast silence shot /targetlasttarget
that macro will allow you to shoot the focused target with silencing shot, and then return to the target you had before.

/cast Silencing Shot
Won't even need to change targets with that macro.

Now, my question is.
What's the syntax to set a target as focus?
As a healer, focus is also something I might find very useful.
Target your target, /focus

You may also specify a name and use conditionals if you want:
/focus Target Name
or post 2.3 shorten it to
/focus Target Name
An example focus macro I've made in the past for polymorph:
#showtooltip Polymorph: Pig
/focus
/cast Polymorph: Pig
That's 'Set my current target to be my focus IF my existing focus target is dead OR does not exist, OR I'm holding a modifier key (alt/ctrl/shift). THEN cast polymorph on my focus target.'
edit: removed some unnecessary "nomodifier"s from the macro, I just don't see any reason why I'd need them.
