There is a difference, but both are trivial when the victem faces death.
But the difference in the "victims" is vastly larger than trivial. And that is why I believe that the comparison is not valid.

Please list the differences that makes it ok in one scenerio, and not in the other. The scenerios being: Let a man die, and abort a baby.

What do you want me to say? I pity those who are dying from starvation, but in our current world environment, if there weren't consequences for my actions, I would be more likely to put them down to end their suffering rather than feed them. Some people need to die if humanity is to continue surviving on Earth, and the way I see it, I'd rather their deaths be made more humane.
Let a man die, and abort a fetus.
Fix't. Stop trying to push people's emotional buttons.

You changed it to avoid the ethical problems you face. If you were standing next to a man who was starving to death, and you had food plenty for both of you, would you be obligated to feed him?
Let a man die, and abort a fetus.
Fix't. Stop trying to push people's emotional buttons. Why are you so adamant about not calling an unborn baby a baby, but labeling it a 'fetus'? Why the insistance on using medical terminology? Are you afraid someone might feel empathy? (there's that ugly word again)

He held her against her will, which I view as wrong.
Personally, there is nothing morally wrong about changing her mind at the last minute, but it's a ^&*! move.

Self contradicting statement if I ever saw one.

Because he's using the technical term for it? Personally, I'm pro choice, because even IF you are planning to have a baby, think about it, you just let one out of over a million sperm cells form with an egg. Every time a woman/girl has a period, that's an egg or possible life being "Killed". How is this any different from an unborn baby?

would you be obligated to feed him?
No. If he was a murderer or pedophile etc. I probably wouldn't give him my food. Only if the person was a good person would I likely let them eat some of my food.
Are you afraid someone might feel empathy?
"Afraid" isn't the right term I'd use. But you're trying to cause people's emotions to overpower their logic, and I just don't agree with that.

Think of it this way. Say your going to take some huge and incredibly hard test for a incredibly well paying/fun job, and you have your parents get worked up and your brother takes hours out of his life teaching you, and they make their next plans assuming you are going to take the test, but then you decide not to, because it's too hard and taking too much out of your life. It's your life and your choice, so you should be able to make it, but you did let down a lot of people that you wouldn't have if you hadn't tried to aim so big in the first place.

You're statement is so disagreeable to me, that if you agree with it, you and I have so little in common in the field of morals and ethics, that I have nothing constructive to say to you.Think of it this way. Haha, does anyone even know what a fetus is?
It
doesn't become a fetus until the 11th week. So even you aren't using the technical term for an unborn baby. Give me term that encompasses the embryonic and fetal stages and we'll use that.
Until then, unborn baby, is the only term provided that covers all 9 months.

'Kay you win. Doesn't really change either of our points however, he/I was using the technical term to the best of our knowledge.

I was trying to use a minor example so that you couldn't really argue with it.

I was trying to use a minor example so that you couldn't really argue with it.
Let's compare Hitler's extermination of Jews to a mother sending her kid to timeout.
Examples that change key elements don't work.

Abortion : Loss of life.
No example is going to be easily defendable.

Is it really loss of life? If I don't pick up a nickel from the ground, am I really losing a nickel?

2:00 - The life exists
2:30 - The life is gone
1-1 = 0
or so I thought.

In my opinion, the ends never will justify means. Why I crafted the scenerio the way that I did was so this would pop up. Either the ends don't justify the means, and abortion is wrong, or the ends do justify the means, and the man was right in holding her hostage. Quite a konundrum.
