Dude don't necro old threads, didn't you learn anything from your last vacation?

man, I really hate night elves. Maiev is considered a traitor and so is Illidan while Tyrande and Malfurion are the honored leaders of the night elves. Illidan did not do anything wrong.
You mean besides siding with the Legion during the war of the Ancients and creating Felwood (I believe he was the one, I could be absolutely wrong though) and siding with the Legion many times and killing Night Elves?

What i wanna see is this.
In some time there will be a raid in which we will fight Sergeras. And like Ulduar Sergeras wont be the last boss....the last super hard imba boss will be the one and only Illidan Stormrage! We will NOT be prepared and he will have his revenge on that *!@#$ Tyrande and his brother.

Calm down.. Illidan was invited to "Good Morning with Jaina Proudmore!" after that Pit Lord. He's gonna shine! So will Tyrande, Malfurion, Maiev and Wisp 0036 go there to comment on him. That's another thing. Even Darkness left him. It wouldn't even answer his calls.
How witty.

I'm sorry guys for what I did, but I'm new to these forums and I have no idea what necro means. I can see people complaining about me necroing.
It means if a thread has been dead for more then 6 months, don't just bump it to the front page with a one line response; actually add in something relevant or put your post into the
General Lore
thread; in other words, think before you post.

Sorry about that, I did not look at the history of the last posts.
It's fine man, we need some more discussions too =D

Illidan also screwed himself over, as said in the thread, by re-creating the Well; had he not done so, he would not have become immortal, and sat locked in a dungeon for 10 thousand years, unable to die of old age.
The demon hordes don't have any obvious targets like the world treeNo of course not... they would just have the new Well to go for to use to open up a portal.
Also, please look at the last post date before you make a post; this thread had a problem with necro'ing before.

Illidan also screwed himself over, as said in the thread, by re-creating the Well; had he not done so, he would not have become immortal, and sat locked in a dungeon for 10 thousand years, unable to die of old age.You can't blame him for that. He thought that Night Elf civilization
needed
the Well to survive. It was literally the center of their culture. Everything else assumed a Well of Eternity.
It wasn't just greed for power, I think, but an actual concern for the wellbeing of his people. Before the well, some thousands of years in the past, they had been uncivilized nomads, and possibly trolls. Think about that.
To use an analogy, let's look to the printing press. Our civilization is built upon the ability to communicate ideas through books (granted, now we have the internet and computers, but they all derive from the press). Suppose an alien civilization notices out ability to communicate through printed material somehow, and comes to destroy us. We narrowly succeed in beating them, but are forced to destroy our books in the process (I don't know how... maybe we burned all the alien ships in book fueled fires, it's not important). Political figure A says that now the human race can never use printed material again. Figure B says that's nonsense, anticipating the onset of the Dark Ages in that event. I think Figure B's concerns are justified in that case.
Likewise with Illidan. Literally all of Night Elf history up to that point was based around the Well. It was the center of their culture. Perhaps Malfurion didn't realize how important it was, because he was a druid, but I imagine a sorcerer like Illidan would have an accurate grasp on just what the Well meant to the elves. It powered their technology, it was the source of their wisdom (assuming the Descent from Trolls theory), and without it, they would literally die (since the Well-immortality theory has been proven).
To Illidan, the Night Elf civilization could not exist without a Well. Even with the demon threat still somewhere on the horizon, it was not worth the breakdown of Night Elf culture as they knew it. And guess what: Malfurion's fears were apparently greatly exaggerated. Even with the new Well AND the Sunwell, there wasn't another demonic invasion for another 10,000 years.
On top of that, Illidan's punishment was delivered by Malfurion, who knew that he would be immortal. Just because Illidan indirectly affected the severity of his punishment does not mean that he's responsible for it. Malfurion, knowing that Illidan was immortal again (whether by cause of the new Well, or the creation of the World Tree), ordered that his brother be locked underground, in the dark, by himself, alive
forever
. That's not even on the same page as a life sentence for us. In real world prisons, you can go outside and exercise, see the light, eat with other prisoners, etc. Illidan was in a state of permanent isolation, in the dark, and was supposed to remain there, until the death of the world. That is cruel and unusual punishment. Malfurion wanted to avoid killing his brother, an so he delivered him into a punishment thousands of times worse. Malfurion was willing to increase his brother's suffering to avoid having his blood on his hands, and that is selfish.
Illidan should not be held accountable for how insanely tortuous his sentence was. The people who gave him the sentence should.
The demon hordes don't have any obvious targets like the world treeNo of course not... they would just have the new Well to go for to use to open up a portal.
Also, please look at the last post date before you make a post; this thread had a problem with necro'ing before. With the size of his post, I wouldn't consider that necroing. If he'd started a new thread, you would have told him to use the search bar.

Well, correct me wrong. But if i recall right, when i played WC3(It been nearly 2 years, yet i have a splendid memorie of the awesome game) I dident see Illidan is insane in that box, maybe more calm and annoyed, consider he had 10.000 thousand years to meditate, relax, think, maybe even plan? Consider he became a Demon Hunter before he got put in there, he should have been able to find calm within himself. Sure he was pissed, but he was glad to see his old love crush, and when the naga saves her, his brother does after all let him go, as a sign he still loves him.
(I hope this not nocroing, consider the last post was just a few days old >_<)
