I have recently been trying very hard to obtain Triumph badges and earn some gold but it seems as though its an uphill battle. Im not asking for help with my low proffs but, what I am asking is what can I do to get ahead in the position I am in. Is there some trick to getting copious amounts of high end gear without being in a superb guild? Also, taking it with a pinch of salt, I'm wondering if I am the only one who feels arms and especially fury is just too under par to be competitive dps in this modern raiding environment?
Just the other day I participated in Onyxia 10-man and when all was said and done I not only beat a fury warrior with much better gear, (3/5 hellscream + 2 Edge of Agony), but I also got some of the lowest dps on the lists (recount). Now, I know 3 arms rotations (if you can call them that) and 2 excellent fury rotations but since the time of using any of the arms and either of the fury rotations, they just dont put out the dps I would expect. Now, when I was fury,
I did around 5.3K dps on multiple mobs and around 2.8K on single target... so even though I loved the spec, I had to change it. So what I have now is what I am using but even now it seems unrewarding. Currantly I am slam-specced where I dont use heroic strike so much as I time my slams in between overpowers and executes come spontaneously. With this spec I have managed to pull around 3.8K dps on onyxia 10 man which is a pittance IMO, and a largely varied amount on mobs (bladestorm CD).
Now, I dont know if blizzard enjoys seeing wildly different dps output or if they just dont know how to handle the warrior (i could go on all day on how to fix it) but it seems under the current system Im not getting my gear's worth out of it.
Can someone help me set things strait before I go back to working on my death knight -_-
Thank you.

The first step when asking for advice is to post your armory link so that those responding can see any glaring errors.
Arms does good damage, but Fury starts to pull away later on (mostly due to the AP scaling of their abilities, and their increased Strength due to Imp Zerker Stance talent). The trick for fury is that it needs 3% less hit than Arms, but it requires the full 26 expertise. So if you have gear that has high (8%) hit, but low (18) expertise, Arms will probably be better. Also, Arms pretty much requires an Axe and an Armor Pen trinket (or a lot of passive ArP on gear) to be competitive.
On the flip side, if you have enough expertise from gear to be close to 26, and have 2 really good two handed weapons, then Fury is likely to be the better DPS spec.
As for tricks to getting gear, there's nothing overly complicated. Run heroics, run Heroic ToC until it's dry, get as much of the good badge gear as you can, save your Triumph badges for the really good 245 ilvl items, and try and PuG ToC10. I almost wouldn't even bother trying to PuG Ulduar or Naxx anymore; for Naxx the gear isn't that good these days, and Ulduar will probably be more frustration than is worth it. Do daily quests for Gold and buy some Crusader Orbs if you can afford them so you can get the crafted Chest and Bracers. Get the Ulduar crafted Belt and Boots, since Runed Orbs should be simple to come by.

Glyphs are wrong for Arms. Drop the Heroic Strike and Cleaving glyphs and get Mortal Strike and Execution. The Enduring Victory minor is pretty useless, but the alternatives aren't stellar either; might as well put Battle in there instead.
As for Spec, the only thing I'd say is get Commanding Presence instead of Unbridled Wrath. Having the added versatility of full power Commanding and Battle shout is better than the modest rage gains.
You are on your mark for Hit and Expertise, so you are good to go there. You are using some cheap gems which could use some upgrading. Some of your gem choices can be tweaked as well. For example, using Strength/Hit combo gems to inch down your slightly over-capped hit rating would be good since you can stand to lose about 10 hit (263 is your 8% mark). The Strength/Haste in your belt should be Strength/Hit or just plain Strength (4 strength socket bonus isn't worth going for unless you are using the socket for a hit gem to get to 8%). You are missing enchants on Gloves, Cloak, and Shoulders. You need to get a Belt Buckle for an extra socket on your belt. The 15 expertise on your Bracers is not the optimal enchant; you are better enchanting for Attack Power and using an expertise gem (50 AP enchant = ~23 strength, as opposed to the 15 Expertise you are getting on the enchant). Getting your Blacksmithing up to 400 will let you add sockets to bracers and gloves, which would be another ~30 DPS increase.
Otherwise, that's about it. I don't see any quicky gear upgrades for you, the rest is pretty much going to come out of raids. The only three that would be smallish upgrades would be the
Agility triumph ring
(although the
Strength triumph ring
wouldn't be terrible either), the
Agility conquest neck
, and the
Triumph Throwing Weapon
. Beyond those things, the Titanium Spikeguards would be around a 30 DPS increase, and the Razorplate would be another 55 (though you'd be dropping your two-piece T8); but it's up to you if Crusader Orbs are in your budget.

Hey dude, I've only been playing the expansion for a little over a month but I had a lot of in-game experience before I started back up (4 level 70s and no play time for over 2 years.. so I've been here since the beginning)... anyways my mage is my main and my warrior is my alt...
Basically I play my mage as my DPS class and when I want to tank I switch over to my warrior, it's been really satisfying role to play and it's basically what I look for gear for... furthering my role to tank. To take steps for this since he's only level 76 I PL'd mining from level 1 and worked on my mining getting it to around 435 for the future titan steel gear. It's a fun class....
I try not to get to disappointed in what warriors are missing that other classes can do better sometimes and just try and focus on having fun and doing my role to the best of my ability. Because if there is one thing I've noticed a good tank can make or break a group. The things that I do get jealous over after a lot of grouping experience on my mage.. is that Protection and Ret Paladin DPS is way out of hand especially vs groups... A paladin with similar level gear to my make (level 200-232) was able to maintain equal DPS the entire instances even through the AE pulls all while tanking. Maybe it's just my old gamer experiences but I believe is defined roles and I think the roles are getted muddled with some classes doing what one class was suppose to be pretty much the best at and doing it better now-a-days...
In a word: HYBRIDS ARE DOING THERE JOB BETTER THAN JOBS IN WHICH ITS THERE PRIMARY ROLE DUE TO NO OTHER UTILITY.
Tank: Warrior through having the best damage mitigation because of talents/abilities.. doesn't bring much utility as DPS role is dangerous and can be fulfilled by other classes much more efficiently.
Hybrid Tank: Paladin, brings more utility can switch to healing role or a tanking role with duel spec.
Shaman: On paper should be able to tank but as time has gone by there role is Elemental for DPS and Resto for healing role.
Mage: Glass Cannon, the DPS masters!
False
Shamans can out DPS mages or have equal DPS.
Mage's have no other utility.. we can't heal others.
----------------
Anyway's I'm getting on a tangent.. see what happens.. anyways try to have fun.

Things do change fight to fight, but current WMO rankings:
Beasts:
Mage
Hunter
Rogue
DK
Warlock
Jaraxxus:
Mage
DK
Warrior
Rogue
Hunter
Twins:
Mage
Paladin
Warrior
Hunter
DK
Anub:
DK
Warrior
Rogue
Mage
Paladin
I'm with you though, the Pure classes should be on top of Damage, and designers have stated as much. Note that the pure classes are Hunter, Rogue, Mage, Warlock. That's it. Everything else is treated the same as a Hybrid. Paladins aren't (and shouldn't) be treated as "more hybrid" than Warriors. If they were to use that mindset, then paladins would have to be worse tanks than Warriors and DKs, worse healers than priests or shamans, and worse DPS than everything except Druids (the only other three-role class). They just can't design the game that way; if Paladins were actually made worse than everything else then why would someone ever play one?
In the end, talking about theoretical differences of ~10% between classes is really nothing to be concerned about. Talent and gear choices and actual player skill will disrupt DPS figures more than 10%.
