I believe he says so himself. When you speak to him.Alright, just tried to do this, and he has no option to talk to him besides the quests.
I believe Wowwiki could be... *gasp* wrong!

Fighting Arthas and holding him off for far longer than any Alliance general did.
Fighting and dying for her people.
I'm sure the Alliance would respect that. Especially considering who her elder sister is. ;)

1. Why do you keep referring to children being killed by the Forsaken as if it's something that happens all the time? The only scrap of evidence you can bring forth is a single quest title from an expansion that hasn't been released.
2. I support some Forsaken. I support Sylvanas' revenge against Arthas. I oppose genocide against the Forsaken. I support the Forsaken from a military standpoint, because without them, the Horde would be at a severe disadvantage in the eastern kingdoms
3. Sylvanas was a hero. She was Ranger-General. It was her and her forces that kept Quel'thalas safe in the Second War. In the Third War, she was a huge part of the opposition against Arthas.
4.
Sylvanas supported Nathanos Marris, even when Kael'thas did not.
You are dead wrong on this part, dark.
Entry Date: Unknown
Name: Nathanos Marris, Human Ranger Lord of Lordaeron.
Kael'thas Sunstrider's dissention in regards to my decision to allow Nathanos Marris into the order is noted. It should also be noted that Nathanos - although a human - is one of the most gifted rangers I have ever had the pleasure of training.
For millennia we have isolated ourselves from outsiders. I will be the first among us to admit that mistakes were made in the past. Humans should have never been exposed to magic. I will not deny this but I will not condemn us to this guarded existance for the blunders of our predecessors. There is much that a coexistance between the Quel'dorei and other races of this world can bring. We must practice tolerance.
It is with these words, then, that I deny Kael's request in regards to Nathanos Marris. He will prove to be an invaluable ally. Mark my words.
Signed,
Sylvanas Windrunner
Ranger General of Silvermoon

Well, humans aren't exactly as in tune with nature as the Elven rangers, are they?

That's not an insult, she's writing to her superiors saying that even though he's a human, who traditionally aren't trained to become rangers, he deserves it anyway.
That's like someone saying "<person>, even though they are a woman, can kick ass just as well as any man."
It's not an insult.

Alleria took a army force of elves, and they were the ones who helped in all places of the Second war, the others elves did almost nothing. Her forces were tiny, miniscule, and yet she's considered a hero.
If Quel'thalas had fallen, Lordaeron would have fallen. Thus I posit that Sylvanas was a hero as well.
And you're completely glossing over the Third War.

Indeed. Kul Tiras and Quel'thalas were 2 of the most significant naval forces in the Alliance, if I recall.

The war lasted for a long while, even though the book made it seem like it was just a few weeks.

Alright then, I suppose Magni isn't a hero of the Alliance either then.
After all, what did Ironforge do in the Second War?
