I think....
I find...
I saw...
That's all great.
Now tell me why your opinion should be law?
The issue is not whether drugs are bad for you or not. The issue is whether the government has any business regulating what a consenting adult chooses to put in his body.
Which is why I was adamant that my comments were my opinion. And judging by this thread, I'm quite obviously in the minority on this issue. Frankly, I fully suspect marijuana will be completely legalized in my lifetime.
I hope not...

I don't think you're in the minority at all. If you sit down and look at what proponents are actually arguing for, you'll see that most of them condone drug use. The issue people have is with the government deciding to be our conscience and decide for us what is right and wrong.
I agree with your opinion on drugs. I'm 100% anti-drug. But I'm also 100% against government control. Like I said before. Two different issues.

Legalize it, but only if people swear never to smoke it.

Legalize :)
People fight when they are drunk, when was the last time you saw a baked guy fight? Must probably wouldn't bother fighting.

On the other hand I heard Brad Pit plans to run for president in 2016 and he says his first act in government would be to legalise Marijuana I dont know about other people here but there's no way in hell he's getting my voteIt's Brad Pitt... that alone is reason enough not to vote him.

I find this position somewhat frustrating, as I feel the same way. But I see legalizing it as creating more government control and regulation. Mebbe I'm wrong.
How would ending the war on drugs lead to more government control? Sure, keep it out of schools. But that's not more control than they have right now.
