You should change spec at 350-400 ArP and gem for that when you can reach cap with combined ArP from gear, gems and trinket proc. You can also drop ArP trinket if you have 1 000 ArP w/o proc.

Nobody answered his question. As a someone who has both specs and has used both. I think the answer is no. The DPS difference is not that big at all, if any. For the raid yes because of true shot, but your DPS I am not so sure. I keep hearing how much better it is, but I keep matching or beating MM hunters in Over all DPS(damage Done) in most fights when their gear is the same or better than mine. (I see them over me in DPS during the fight, but I end up doing more damage.
I heard someone describe it this way. "MM makes your Blank look big, Surv lets you use it longer." I am inclined to think that is about right.
what they meant was MM has higher DPS burst and Much higher AOE potential, but Survival will put you at the top of the over all damage done list on most fights in the end.
Both are viable so use what ever you like. I have both and will grudingly go MM to give a raid true shot but if there is another MM hunter in the raid, then the others might as well be survival and get the best thing about MM while being Surv.
IMO anyways.
Pretty much basically everything he said I agree with.
Honestly, the difference isn't that much. Hunters have 2 viable dps specs, and they're only slightly different.

I stay survival because I prefer it.
Some prefer Marks. Play what you enjoy or what you can play the best, you'll probably end up doing more dps as either.
