Ignore them, they're doing it wrong or they have serious mana issues and are using a peculiar solution.
You should never gem for pure int as Holy spec IMO. WORST Case scenario, gem SP + Int. You can NEVER be capped for SP as far as I'm concerned, and you cannot realistically reach a cap for Haste either. Are you sure you're not looking at Disco Priests?

I've been seeing some priests from higher guilds on my server (Mal'Ganis) that are holy gemming SP/INT. Thought it seemed kind of odd, but I just continue gemming how I like.

Afaik the latest Ensidia holy guide recommends INT gemming. People tend to listen to that.

Call me old fashioned, but for the moment, I just don't agree with that Ensidia priest.

If your on about Poptisse, she has a very screwed vision of a holy priest. She has admitted that she goes with the renew play style because the druids she runs with are so *!@# hot that she can't get a heal in anywhere. I don't agree with her geming philosophy what so ever. Ensidia could actually run without a priest very easily. If anything, I would go as far to say that she is 80% ok priest and 20% being carried. Renew play style is a very lazy way to get good HPS and look like your doing good.
Never gem pure stats unless it's spell power and/or you have your BiS.

Spirit / Int gems are the cheaper gems, at least on my server.
And I agree with Poptisse. With druid healers and their hots around it's better to spec shadow. A holy priest in an endgame guild is a wasted slot.

My guild has some really good resto druids and I under stand on some fights that it's frustrating where their hots cover most of the damage, but for those fights I just go disc and help the tank healers or shield spam the raid.
Typically I'm
Disc: Lord Marrow, Gunship, Deathbringer, and Rotface.
Holy: Lady Death, Fester, Putricide, Princes, and Blood Queen.
We run with 2 pallies, 2 druids, and 1 priest (me). Sometimes it's 2 pallies, 1 druid, 1 sham, and 1 priest. With both set ups though on the fights I'm holy I'm still number 1 or 2 on the healing lists so I don't see how it's a wasted spot in end game content. :(

Gemming straight Int is for Paladins...
I wouldn't doubt that Ensidia posted that guide just to throw off other guilds/people, to slow other guilds' progression.

Well, I've noticed this on my server with many Holy Priests as well - And I've always wondered why on Earth they would need so much mana, especially when I see ICC gear which is laden with intellect and spirit anyway! However, I haven't raided ICC yet so I can't make a judgement from my own experience.
