I smell another addon to the script. ;-)
However, after talking to my host I should get my domain back on Monday (August 3rd)...stupid weekends. On a good note I have an extra domain (crackpot.ws) that I will use as an Addon domain to link to this script's subdomain.

Well FML, my domain crackpot.us has been snatched up by a holding company and I'm sure would charge me an arm and a leg to get it back so I am going forward with crackpot.ws. I am in the process of moving everything from my old hosting to the new hosting, so it will take a few hours and the new site will be up. This has truly been a pain in the ass...
UPDATE 19:06 EST
crackpot(dot)ws
is online. My host uses CPanel to manage the sites so it shouldn't take too long to backup my old site and restore it on my new site. We're almost there guys, I'll update you more later with any new information.
UPDATE 20:11 EST
Currently moving my home directory over to my new site and getting the databases back online...fun stuff. =(
UPDATE 20:13 EST
Databases are back online, and the home directory is still in the process (its about 204mb, so it takes a bit). Then all I have to do is setup the subdomains and adjust the script's to use my new info and we should be good to go.
UPDATE 21:33 EST
The
script's website
is back online!
All seems to be working, however due to the complexity of moving everything over, I am only going to change over phpBB for my testing platform. So all of the installations I had previously tested this script on have not been moved over. Thanks for being so patient guys. So then, if you need help feel free to post here.
My new email for support for the script is tooltips@crackpot.ws (that's WS, not US anymore).

In the process of getting my site back up, I have noticed that Wowhead's JS file now supports NPC tooltips, so I am going to rewrite the NPC module to account for it. I am also working out a way to put the profiler to use.

YAY, i don't have to keep spamming links on other forums now, welcome home craCKpot :)
yea npc and profiler would rock bigtime
this is already the ulitmae warcraft tooltip and with the new additions in process it will be literally the "one and only" that peeps should use :)

Maybe a nice addition to your script would be something like tags, to link items from the ptr database.
you can grab from the ptr by doing
lang="ptr"
inside the bbcode tag. it was an unintended feature, but it works. note, only the english language will work on the ptr.
also, the npc module has been fixed to use wowhead's built in tooltip, even though it doesn't show as much information as my version did (oh well, i have no choice). the profile is still a work in a progress.
edit
i should have a working profile module here in a few minutes. just working out the details then i can write the code. thank god i have something to do while i wait for the realms to come back online.
so here's what i'm thinking:
<name>
would simply create a link to:
http://profiler.wowhead.com/?profile=<region>
.<realm>.<name> (i added two variables to config.php so you can set a default region/realm)
i am going to have a put a check to make sure its a valid realm/region...boo lol
too many realms, we'll just let it say profile not found, lol
also: <number>
would get the name of the profile and then link to it as normal.
UPDATE 17:34 EST
the name version of the profile module is now working, i am still working out the details of the id portion. not sure how i'm going to get the name of the toon from its id. you can see how its going by going
here
.
UPDATE 17:45 EST
okay after doing a bit of research, getting a profile's name from its id isn't going to be possible. the profiler makes extensive use of Javascript (AJAX) which makes it impossible for PHP to get the data i need to extract the name. so, on that note i guess the profile module is done.

. It is an armory module, btw. ;-)

After doing a bit of research and testing it looks like Wowhead's built in tooltip support will not be capable of handling what I want with the armory module, so I am going to be using jQuery and clueTip classes to handle it. Not exactly sure how I am going to make it work/look as of yet, but I certainly have a lot of coding ahead of me.

That's the idea, but his code is really bad to read, and it isn't functional given the changes to the armory, so I am going to write my own code and set it up how I want.

Slight problem upgrading from 3.2 to 3.3, I can't seem to get Quests & Spells working.
If I were try to add something like The Brood of Onyxia then it seems to be parsed but ends up with nothing appearing in the actual post.
Items, profiles, achievements etc all seem fine.
Where should I start looking for the problems?
possibly something to do with mysql, have u tried truncating the wowhead tables or even dropping them and running the create_table.php from the wowhead installation to refresh them and see if that fixes your problem
also just tried to replicate your error and my forum when i upgraded but couldn't i also dropped the wowhead sql rows and reinserted and no problem there either.
if the sql refresh doesn't work please provide a link to your forum so i can debug please

ok Crackp0t i think i found an issue
DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `{NPC_TABLE}`;
CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `{NPC_TABLE}` (
`npcid` int(8) unsigned NOT NULL,
`name` varchar(255) NOT NULL,
`search_name` varchar(255) NOT NULL,
`lang` varchar(2) NOT NULL,
`tooltip` varchar(255) NOT NULL
);
the line:
`tooltip` varchar(255) NOT NULL
seems redundant and throws out a row count error
ALSO just found another error that was also in previous version
line 223 of includes/wowhead_craft.php states:
$craft_html = str_replace('{link', $this->_generateLink($this->craft, 'item'), $craft_html);
when in fact it should be:
$craft_html = str_replace('{link}', $this->_generateLink($this->craft, 'item'), $craft_html);

Just the bug fixes posted above. Make sure to run clear_cache.php and then rerun create_table.php to create the modified tables.

Figured I'd give you all an update to my progress on the armory module. Well a crap ton of coding in and we're making good progress. I have it properly generating the HTML for the tooltip, just working on the cache portion now, and then the JavaScript to actually display the tooltip. I have been using some of the code from
this guy's
take on armory tooltips and modifying them heavily to my needs. Seeing as I don't really mess with JavaScript all that much I will most likely modify his JS file to suit my needs. Overall things are looking great! Still working on modifying the guy's code to handle the armory changes, its been a while since he's updated and it doesn't account for the new level cap or dual specs. Woohoo! =D
Just a warning, the installation procedure for this new version (most likely 3.4) will be a bit more involved, but shouldn't be too bad.
Later guys,
craCkpot
