I thought that a mount could only be used once and then you would have to buy a new one. I was afraid to use my mount on my first character. :P

The first time I went on the deeprun tram I fell off about 1/4 the way through. I thought if I ran along the bottom that the tram would run me over and I would die, so I ran along the side of the way which was often blocked by pipes that I had to jump over, so I couldn't afk run it.

My noob moment (besides the many that have already been mentioned) is that I thought that the gray arrows in the mini map (the ones that point to the towns) were in fact the arrows that point you to where to complete the quest. (Came from Oblivion).
I would try to follow the arrow around the nelf starting area and could not understand why it kept disappearing and not showing me where to finish the quest. Because of that mistake and the quest text being impossible to decipher, I ended up skipping a couple of the beginning quests out of utter frustration.
Another one I just thought of was corspe falling down the trees that surround the outer part of the nelf plateu. I had fallen down there, landed on one of the trees sticking out and died, ran as a ghost all the way around the island to the portal and back to my body... just so I could keep going further down and die on one of the next branches. Finally reached the ocean alive so I could swim around.
My friend stopped laughing long enough to tell me about the spirit guide...
BTW, this post is awesome, sticky it and make it mandatory beginning wow reading.

-Wondered why a level 6 spider had a Firebane Cloak. (In fact, i still wanna know how that world drop happened)
Consider this :
bower birds will collect anything that is blue
there is no indication that the item was being worn by the monster you killed(bower birds don't wear the blue things they horde)
The monster may not even be aware that it was in possesion of said item. It's previous meal may still be wearing it.
Or it may just be something stuck to its leg, just like some household dogs i know(don't care if they are draggin half the bedding around when they move)

Actually, i was talking about how such a low level mob dropped the Firebane Cloak. Looking at the drops shown on the WoWHead DB for it, it drops only form level 19-24 mobs, most of the 19 mobs being Elite. The question was not why the monster had possession of the item, but instead why the it dropped off a lower level mob than the range of its drops (19-24 as opposed to level 6)

..also , been working very hard on Argent Dawn rep..
Oh, this takes me back. I killed
sooo
many Scourge for the Scourgestones, jumped on
sooo
many Scholomance PUGs, because I really really wanted
The Purifier
-- I thought Argent Dawn rep was the only way I was ever going to see an epic on my Tauren Hunter.
Then I finally did a few quests in Hellfire Peninsula and got the
Ironstar Repeater
. I remember standing in Hope's Light Chapel for half an hour, looking at the quest screen and wondering how on Earth my quest green was better than an Epic.

I am still a big noob. I just lvl'd my first toon to 25.
- got lost in UC
- bought a bow from a vendor
- accidentally turned on walk when auto running. LOL I could not figure out how to get it off.
- Tried to summon a party member without clicking their name first.
- Had a heck of a time finding the flight path in Org.

I really didn't make too many noobish mistakes at first. When I started for the very first time everyone in my guild/group of friends was already 60, some had multiple 60s, and I got a lot of guidance from them.
Never bought white items from vendors unless it was a new dagger for a melee class or something.
I allocated my talent points reasonably well and as soon as I got them.
The mistakes I made were more of the social kind; just like in real life :(
I kept offering my leatherworking services to my friends, who were level 60 and couldn't care less.
I posted each and every new piece of gear in guild cause it was WAY better than my last piece.
Explained in detail how uber my spec choices were, and thought that I should inform others so they could share in the leetness. After, they couldn't possibly have understood the synergy between those two talents...

I thought the only way to enter a battleground was through the "official" entrance (Altreac mountains for Alterac, Arathi Highlands for Arathi Basin...) and thought it was a real pain to run there...
