I was such a noob that...
I thought you had to be level 20 to get into UC because the elevator doors always closed on me when i tried to go inside them... if only i had waited a little longer...
I thought the guards at the UC starting area would kill me because i saw them killing the level 1 and 2 undead mobs.
I didnt understand the need/greed concept so on my first rfc run i thought if i pressed greed i was being greedy and since need has a dice symbol i pressed need for the first 10 greens that dropped the group wasnt so happy about that...
When level 60 alliance attacked X-roads Pre-TBC i tried to get a group of level 15s-19s to fight them, i got about 7 people and we jumped a hunter when he 1 shotted us all we thought he was a GM >.<

lol, great topic
...took fishing as a prof and rerolled because i didn't know how to unlearn it
...didn't know how to use /1
...couldn't find my way out of UC
...ran to booty bay at lvl 15
... attacked a lvl skull thinking it was a boss
... flagged myself for pvp at lvl 1
... ran away from forsaken thinking they were evil and would attack
... didn't know how to link an item
good times, always filled with awe as everyone moved about (WoW was my first MMORPG apart from runescape)

I was a major noob
...I didnt know how to repair until lvl 10 so i had to melee the lvl 2 plainstriders on my hunter
...I once got my camera view pointing down on my head and leveled like that for a while.
...I rolled need for ravager
...I bought melee weapons based on weapon damage(as a hunter)
...I wanted a cat that was 40 silver and put all my efforts into making the money (before i realized the person who sold it was alliance and i couldnt understand why she attacked me when i tried to right click on her)
...I bought the polearm 'Blight' because of the posion effect
...And i always flagged myself becuase i wanted the symbol of the Horde in my char portrait ( I never could figure out why those FRIGGN JERK HOLES kept killing me outside Booty Bay) I was lvl 19 mind you.

Hi everyone, I just (finally) created an account just so I could share my own noobishness :D
So I ...
- first rolled a NE, I think it was a hunter, mh...
- logged in, and spent a large amout of time figuring out how the camera worked, how to move at all... I was stuck with a very strange camera angle.... very, very hard first moments.
- I went on though, and got lost in this tiny noobzone, yup, a few yards square and still I kept getting lost.
- then, I rolled a trollette, again a hunter. As I was questing in the barrens, I once found myself followed by a Tauren who was just waiting for me to kill mobs so he could skin them ... found that a bit stressing, and also kind of rude, actually. I also wondered what was this purple icon with a paw that popped on the right corner of the screen ...
- Later on, I saw an UD turn all blue with swirly stuff, and was most impressed. I think that was the beginning of my fascination with mages... it lasted all the way till BC, with me being so impressed by them doing all these important stuff in MC, like decursing, and sheeping Majordomo's adds (I had rolled a rogue at this point), fighting from afar (mmmh wise ...) while we did the dirty job.... I also thought that having to restore your mana was a sign that you were an important person.
So now I'm a mage, still with a poor sense of directions :)

Aside from all the ones i read - which i had fallen victom to as well... this one is my personal favorite - sorry if it is a repeat.
I was level 20ish and had finally joined a guild.
I was running around with some people, and they bailed to go farm...
I asked how you do that, cause i thought you planted things and tended crops (this being a resource based game) and it had to do with cooking....
I have tons more, but that was my favorite.
- life is long compared to a fly and short compared to a tree...

Thought that only horde priests can be shadow, and only alliance be holy.
On my rogue out rolled a mage for a cloth hat in Gnomer (the one with electric shock or something of that sort) because it was better than my bandanna.
Never bought anything on my rogue from AH until level 60 (pre-BC), only sold stuff.
At 60 didn't know what any of level 60 dungeons were - mostly leveled by solo. Was mostly green when I got to 60.

-I thought that you had to click every time to attack a monster.
-I thought that even 10s was a millionares amount of money.
-I said 'oh my god, your a lvl 70!' the all the lvl 70 players.
I can go on and on about how much of a noob I was.

- I was always so terrified, even with my fella helping me out, of the mobs in Teldrassil and Darkshore! Late at night when the house was all quiet I would be stealthing around and some noisy mob would suddenly aggro and start shrieking at me, that would always make me leap out of my chair! Actually still does sometimes...
- I took 45 days of /played time to get to level 70... well, I discovered a lot of places, maxed skills, got lots of rep including the winterspring mount, so maybe not SO noobish... my second char will get to 70 in maybe a third of the time but it will not be so special as that 1st year of wasting lots of time, being totally terrified and often pleasantly surpirsed by what was around the next corner.

1. In Tirisfal glades I was heading from deathknell to Brill and I figured that the quickest way from one place to another was a straight line. Little did I know that things would follow and kill me everywhere but the roads (usually).
2. Also in tirisfal, I always thought that the big guy who asks you to pick pick some weeds was going to attack me. Even when I realized that he was only a quest giver, I still thought that he was going to kill me because I hadnt finished his quest, and he always seemed to be running at me.
3. Went into WPL at low level and died thinking that skull and crossbones meant only that things would attack you from far away and not that they are a much higher level than you.
4. Thought that armor was the most important attribute for my mage so up until level 30, I always bought the white clothes whenever I could. Also, strength was second after armor, and there was no use for intellect because who needs a smarter character on a video game? Is he going to do my homework for me or something?

My Hunter's pet didn't get a single training point spent until well into my 20s, because I thought if I learned the skills he automatically got them. Also, I couldn't figure out why he sucked as a Tank so much until then, because I didn't know to turn Cower off autofire, and of course he had LOTS of focus to use it since he didn't know any other skills.

I was such a noob when I started I. . .
1.) Didn't know what PvP, PvE, or RP were.
2.) Thought that my level 15 Orc was an insane killing beast compared to the entire game.
3.) Never reached or knew what 1g was til I played/studied the game for 2 months.
4.) Didn't know what talent points were, nor knowing there was such a thing til I had played for a little over a month.
5.) Had the game control scheme coordination that of a technically inclined monkey, and played only with my right hand, using the arrow keys to move, then when I had to click on something took my hand off to use the mouse.
6.) I didn't manage to leave Durotar til 2 months of game play.
Wow, looking at it now in typed form I have come a long way.
