We were just talking about this in guild chat yesterday. I got 2 that come to mind:
1) I play on a PvE realm. My friend got me into the game after he was already level 60. I was trying to meet with him by travelling through Barrens. Well the Horde guards came rushin at me because I had no clue where I was walking and he proceeded to kill some and tell me to run. A hordie shows up and ganks us, to which my friend responds he must have turned PvP on........we didn't know attacking guards automatically flagged us.
2) One that I'm sure has been listed, that many have done. My first time in EPL, clicking on the "Blood of Heroes". I thought I could maybe drink it and get buff, not grab it and get pwned.

When I was leveling my pally,my hunter(main)was only lvl 27 so I was still a noob.I thought that the Eastern Plaugelands is where the Blood Elfs went next so I went through the portal, and ran all the way through Eastern plaugelands and some on West. >.< big repair bill

And Ill be completely honest...do you guys not press buttons when you try a new game?...Like a start a game and I press different buttons to figure out what they all do...Am I the only one who does that?
No, you're not. And I'm pretty amazed every time I read stuff like "I didn't know I had a map" or "I didn't know how to attack". Very strange...

...I didn't know anything about 'bind on equip/pickup'. I tried trading/sending gear thinking I was doing something wrong.
Something close to it, wanted to sell soulbound items on Trade channel and got answered : "Lol you can't sell those they're BoP". And I tried to look smart and replied : "No, it says here it's cloth"...
