Gorgron
?
Gorgron picked up the key. It was hidden in a magical lamp. He quickly undid the mechanism and it dropped to the floor.

Kitanga stared in awe at the strange beast they were facing.
"I can't try to fight it by myself," she confessed, pointing to the device on her chest. "I'd end up going berserk and getting us both killed."

"GOD DAMN IT" cursed Avelreth, he ran to the weapons and picked up a large two handed sword that looked familiar,
my own fine blade
he thought in relief. He then stooped to picked up a shotgun and several rounds. He fired them off in rapid succession before moving on to the next gun on the floor. The beast approached albeit with a few gaping holes... "curses" Avelreth muttered under his breath.

Kitanga quickly picked up a pair of axes, stepping in front of the human to allow him to reload and fire as necessary.
"I'll do my best to keep it off of you," she nodded, gripping her axes tighter. "Just be mindful that I have to keep my heartrate down."

"Too easy" said Avelreth as he picked up a large warhammer and held it in his other hand. He swung them both into the creatures skull, it started twitching and swelling. "Crap..." muttered Avelreth as he pulled Kitanga behind a barricade, the creature exploded and lots of smaller versions of it were sent flying around the room. "I hate this place" said Avelreth while crushing several of the creatures that were advancing on him.

"I know the feeling," Kitanga muttered bitterly. "Where does he come up with this stuff? I've never even seen one of those things before," she added, crushing several of the smaller parasites under foot.

"Let's hope.." Avelreth began, feeling around in his cloak. "AHA!" he said, pulling out a vial of bright red liquid. "Here's a sweet dose of death for you" he said, throwing the liquid at the worm creatures, they writhed and started falling apart. "I kept a bit of this myself, after seeing how well it worked on the orcs we interrogated a while back..." he continued, "Come to think of it... Why don't I use some on you" he said, turning to Kitanga with crazy hate filled eyes, "that would save me a lot of trouble..." He took out another vial of the liquid and pulled out the stopper, standing back so Kitanga wouldn't be able to swing very easily at him.

Kitanga grunted in irritation as she watched the human.
"Well, if you want your head blown off, go ahead," she answered cynically, gesturing to the collar on her neck. "If you don't, why don't you quit acting like a moron."

Avelreth remembered the collar and he felt stupid at his actions but he couldnt let the orc see, instead he put the liquid away and he spat at Kitanga instead. "Just my luck to have been thrown in with a bloody orc, as soon as I get this collar off I will tear you limb from limb" he said nastily however without much enthusiasm.
Why do I act like this? What happened to me that made me the monster I am?
he thought. He shoved the thought aside in frustration,
remember, this is your enemy
he reminded himself. He took his rage out on a nearby wall by swinging his sword at it, shattering the wall completely.

"Well, I suppose we'll see about that, won't we," Kitanga muttered, looking at the shattered wall to see where it led. "That is, if we even survive that far."

Avelreth looked around the new passageway. "Lets go" he said, leading the way. "I hope your happy" he said to the wall sarcastically, wondering if the one who had brought him to the Asylum could hear him.

"Lead the way," Kitanga answered, gesturing forward. She thought about the images she had seen in the room before and shook her head. If the Horde wanted to go back to being child-murderers, they have to kill her first. There was no way that she could allow that to happen.

Character: Avelreth

Avelreth looked around with little interest, "nothing here it seems" he said to no one in particular. It's almost s if...." he was cut off as a dart slammed into his side from a trap undernearth him. "Urgh" he gasped as he fell to the floor. Something started to rise out of the ground in front of Kitanga, it had bloody writing on it. It read:
Your 'friend' has been poisoned, you have two options, pull the antidote out of the far wall and cure them, or take the key from the other wall and remove any traps upon you. If you chose the second your friend will be impaled instantly on a spike. The choice is yours.

Kitanga thought about the choice, but quickly decided.
"
I cannot let him die to save my own skin,
" she thought. "
Not only would it be a horrible thing for a servant of the spirits to do, but I would guess that it's a trap too. No, I could never let someone die like this when I can help them, even if they deserve it. The ancestors would never forgive me.
"
She kneeled down next to the human and took his hand gently.
"All right, hold on," she nodded. "Take deep breaths and try to relax. I'll be right back with the antidote," she said, trying to smile.
She rushed over to the other wall, where she spied a small bottle. She quickly assessed it, not wanting to activate any other traps. She smelled something strange nearby. I seemed to be coming from the bottle. She reached out to take it, but suddenly a small spark erupted from the bottle's resting place, igniting what was apparently a jet of gas. She yelped in pain and felt a painful shock in her chest as her heartrate skyrocketed. As she tried to calm herself, she heard The Voice.
"You thought that you wouldn't have to make any sacrifice to save him?" the Voice said. "This flame is over two thousand degrees, by your people's measurement. That is more than twenty times the boiling point of water. The bottle will melt in less than thirty seconds if you do not act fast. Will you brave the heat to save someone who hates you? The key is still available. Choose quickly."
Kitanga bit her lip, trying to gather the courage to take the bottle. She had already decided against the key. It was simply a matter of having the will to take the bottle.
She closed her eyes briefly, and finally reached through the white flame to take the bottle. She hardly even felt the pain at first, but she could feel the heat. She could feel her skin bubbling and blackening as she took the bottle. Her bones were being cooked inside her.
She pulled the bottle back, but accidentally dropped it. She caught it in the other hand to prevent it from breaking, but quickly realized that it might not have been very wise. The bottle was already several hundred degrees in temperature, and though it was not enough to burn the nerves away to deaden the pain, it was certainly enough to cause tremendous agony. She quickly set the bottle down to cool and looked at her hands. Her right hand and forearm were charred and nearly useless, and her left hand had a huge burn on the palm from catching the bottle.
Suddenly, she heard a creaking sound, and turned to find a heavy door slowly closing in front of both walls. She cursed and snatched up the bottle again, ripping off a portion of her shirt to hold the bottle with. She just managed to duck under the door before it finally closed, sealing off the key forever.
"Hold on, hold on," she whispered to the human, setting the bottle down. "The antidote is nearly boiling, you'll just have to hold on a few more minutes," she nodded, looking for anything to cool the bottle with.

Avelreth groaned, he felt something wriggle in his stomach. "The p... poison..." he gasped, "it..... con-contained some sort of p...parasite eggs" he said slowly, in tremendous pain, he saw Kitanga's burnt arm and had seen what she had done to save him,
I don't deserve being saved, maybe I am just meant to die here
he thought.

"Don't worry, you'll be fine," Kitanga nodded quietly, trying to keep the human calm. She finally decided that the antidote was cool enough and used her less burnt hand to open it. "Here, drink this," she said, offering the bottle. "Maybe it'll kill the eggs too."

Avelreth vomited after drinking from the bottle and the parasites were brought up in it. The wriggled on the floor and started to crawl towards him, trying to reclaim their host. Avelreth crushed them with his boot. He then turned to Kitanga, he felt he should thank her, however the words wouldnt come to his lips, years of hatred and ruthlessness had affected him to the point where the simply thank you was too hard to say to an enemy. He stood there for a minute not saying anything then turned away, unable to speak.
Saved by an orc, one of the races I have sought to exterminate
he thought, then he realised they weren't the only ones he had wanted to destroy. He even had a hatred for his allies if they weren't human, albeit a smaller hatred than that for his enemies.
Why does this orc bother saving me,
he thought,
I am a lost cause. She should have just taken the key and saved her own skin.

"Don't worry about it," Kitanga answered, understanding that Avelreth was too proud to thank her. "I know what hate does to people. I expect no thanks," she nodded, sighing slightly. "Let's just try and get out of here. I'm not gonna be as useful as before with my hands this way, though."

"I may have something for your arm, it would heal the skin and soothe the pain but you still wont be able to use it properly," said Avelreth at last. He rummaged around in his cloak, he tossed away the red liquid and pulled out a vial filled with a purplish liquid and one filled with a greenish liquid, he handed them over silently. "You drink the purple one and put on the green one" he said hesistantly, wondering if wasting the potions on an orc was a good idea.
She saved you life when she didn't have to!
His consciousness told him and so he decided there was no point keeping the vials to himself.

Kitanga looked at the human skeptically, but took the vials.
"If these kill me, I'll be very disappointed," she said with a grim chuckle, opening the bottles with her less burnt hand and drinking the purple potion before carefully applying the green one to her burnt skin. It was difficult, as she could hardly use her charred hand without causing even more pain than she was already in. She hissed with pain as she applied it to the tender wound, but steeled herself against the pain. She had endured far worse before. Besides, she couldn't let the human know how much pain she was in. She didn't want to be regarded as a liability at the moment.
