some people prefer to have 5/5 in imp mindblast for the cool down... I personally dig the +crit in shadow power more than a faster cool down since I have been able to really get a good spell cycle down with the 3/5 CD.

It depends on what you're going to be doing; PvP or PvE.
If you're doing PvP, 5/5 imp mind blast works but for PvE it's a waste of talent points. I've played a shadow priest for roughly three years now but I won't be very good at giving advice unless I know what you'll be doing the most of.
Im going to have to disagree on your view of Imp. Mind Blast in PvE it is the sex. Im currently pure raid spec (

) and for me it's a question of whether to max out Imp. Mind Blast or Shadow Power. The way I see it more mind blasts > then a crit mind blast. I don't really see the point in thinking otherwise especially as a shadow priest. Besides when your within 5k threat of the MT even with salvation buff your gonna wish your next mind blast isn't a crit. =P
Anyway what I'm trying to say is Imp. MB in PvE is NOT a waste of talent pts, far from it imo.
