I propose that women deal with emotional stress
more often
than men, so they may have some kind of innate ability to deal with it.
During my time in the Navy, despite the rigorous fitness and health tests prior to entry, I was surprised to find alot of short, unfit and overweight men and women in my intake.
Our trainers lamented that due to 'human rights', the military were not permitted by law to refuse entry into the forces on the basis of height or weight, and they even had to lower the physical fitness standard to match the health of the nations' people at the time.
Alot of these sub-standard recruits struggled and were hurt physically due to training, and alot of times our division was punished until the "fatties" could finish the run in time. Some did lose an impressive amount of weight however, and their physical conditions improved remarkably over the course of 6 weeks.
Some women did try really hard to be tough; one was trying to compete with me often to prove herself. She was physically fitter, but she broke mentally one night on an interrogation exercise. We were kidnapped, beaten softly with rubber bats and had food mushed in our faces. She left of her own accord the next day.
The military should not have to lower standards in order to recruit members.
With women however, the 'proof is in the pudding' if they can hit the mark and meet the standard consistently, then they indeed have a place in the military.

ima just add my 2 cents. Remember that movie alien 3 when sigorney weaver showed up to the all male prison?
Sexual tension is a big distractor. I'm gonna tell my own war story here. I was at a foward base in iraq with 60-70 men except for one older woman (in charge of shower tent) . One day a young very attractive female that smelled like a piece of heaven dropped by to deliver mail. You know for days after she left we could still smell her perfume in the area? I am all for women in the military and I believe they can do anything they put thier mind to. In a combat zone certian distractors could cost lives, sex with another person being one of them.
There is also other things to consider too. I went 3 weeks at another fob without a shower tent. just baby wipes and a bottle of water with holes in the cap. What about a woman's natural cycle in this environment? Lets talk about gear too. My combat load was easily 50 lbs. And I traveled light.
Women have a right to serve and I commend them, but some discretion needs to be used

I'm going to disagree. There is nothing childish about it; sexual assault is sexual assault. You can rape a man just as you can rape a woman.
That's not the point he's making, or at least that I'm reading. He's talking about breaking a person
via
rape.

Edit: Just forget it, there isn't enough data.

lol last comments on page 1 and beginning of page 2, how the hell did it end up like that? I mean I ahd read the comment that started it but still, also this is not a childish arguement, if it was one we would be spending our time insulting each other and so on.
Also I agree, if a woman wants to fight and meets the requirements then she should be allowed to fight.
Though I personally would rather not fight in any war, I could even not have been born if my great-grandpa had died when he got hit in the neck from a sniper bullet in world war one, if he had died I would not be here today, and his brother died on the way back to hospital when a shell hit his stretcher.
