I'm in the same situation as Rondrer. :-(
Thanks for using the Wowhead Client!
This is version 1.6.9, built on August 2, 2010.
Compatible with Wrath of the Lich King.
Upload failed: La connexion réseau a été arrêtée par le système local
The Client claims the local system closed the connection.

It certainly goes in the rigth direction since the situation is better for some people but there is still some problems. :(

Is there a way to remove EVERYTHING associated with it and try a clean install?
There is no easy way to do it, but I can tell you where to go:
Windows registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wowhead
Client's data files: %appdata%\Wowhead (to open the directory press R while holding the Windows Key, and type
%appdata%/wowhead
in the run dialog that will pop up.

Making a lot of progress, I just updated to 1.6.9 on my laptop, and this is what I'm getting now:
http://codepad.org/4DYxFV6m
It's still not there, but anything beyond the immediate rejection is good in my eyes.

-Finally- managed to upload my data. Only 1.3MB, and it took a long time in increments of 5% which has happened since the error first appeared, but it managed to pull through to 100% and complete. Thanks for the fix. Yell if you want a codepad log of that.

I fixed a bug related with the timeout detection code. I'm really confident this was the issue making almost all lengthy uploads fail.
Please download the latest version of the Client (1.6.9) and give me some feedback!
Great work, uploaded just fine now.

Hi,
I'm still having the "Upload failed: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host" error with v1.6.9. See
detailed log here
.
The only difference with the previous attempts is that the progress bar moves up to the 98% before it fails. There are now 2.1MB (compressed) to upload.
I haven't tried deleting any files of folders etc... to avoid losing the collected information. Do you want me to try that or anything else ?
Thanks for the support !
