no sir, they're similiar to werewolves, but are intelligent , civilized anthro wolves, go read the fregging lore ffs.
Why do I imagine you with a mullet, wearing sweats to practice your swordsmanship? Sorry I missed whatever twilight film that mandated no werewolf can be smart while wolfing it up. I suppose undead are "antro corpses" becuase they have braaaaaiiiins. They're zombies and we all know it, so please keep the regergitated post justified blizzard lore on the rp forums.
Heh, we don't use that term on the L&RP forums here, we just call them werewolves as well.

Heh, I find all the classification thing of the Worgen amusing; they are just Lycanthropes, which are shape shifters, able to transform whenever they want in a wolf/humanoid wolf form(yes, they do exist, go check it out). The standard 'cursed' werewolf is a Loup Garou after all, forced to change at the full moon..... and you know, for all we know, there is going to be a Lore thing to add in the phases of the Moon for Warcraft and might actually have the Worgen stay in their wolf-human form at certain times heh.
As a matter of fact, that's what they are in the Twilight series, they honestly are just shapeshifters, not neccessarily were wovles. Read the last book, they say so themselves.
Yeah.... I don't give a crap about Twilight lol. Lycanthropes were around long before that hunk of crap came out of that author's mouth butt/brain.

From my perspective, the Worgens I've encountered in game bear down on their targets like running gorillas- on all fours.
IN my mind, that's awkward. Does it have to be awkward for everyone? No.Playable worgen aren't going to drop down on all fours to run, most likely. Yes, their current run animation looks a bit awkward, but it may well be a placeholder.
And IMO, they're werewolves. Or at least as much "werewolves" as the San'layn are vampires, at any rate. (San'layn seem a bit more like the Middle Eastern
ghul
than the modern vampire concept...but the
ghul
is likewise more like the vampire of folklore than Dracula, anything inspired by Dracula, or the modern ghoul to which it grants its slightly-altered name. But I digress.) They remind me a bit of White Wolf's Garou/Uratha (who are specifically identified as werewolves), or shifters from the D&D setting
Eberron
(who are
not
, but are confirmed to sometimes be close kin).
And can people please just stop talking about
Twilight
? Bad overrated books are neither new nor relevant.

heh, theres a concept art of the san'layan buy blizzard, with a male san'layan belf who's bald, he actually looks like a real vampire.
its in the wotlk manual.I've seen that.
What I was referring to was Prince Valanar talking about
eating
Scarlet Crusaders. While some vampire concepts in folklore were certainly willing to chew on their victims (the difference between a vampire and a ghoul was less cut-and-dried), the modern one has them as strictly blood-drinkers.
Additionally, the
ghul
was notorious for being deceptive—notably, taking on a form in which it would be trusted in order to lull its victims into a false sense of security or otherwise cause trouble. See also: Valanar's antics in Valgarde. "Are the farm boy recruits going to want to work alongside of a bunch of...ahem...
you know what
, even if they
are
paladins?
And no, I have no vested interest whatsoever in limiting the number of paladins in Borean Tundra. Why would you think
that
?"

Yeah.... I don't give a crap about Twilight lol. Lycanthropes were around long before that hunk of crap came out of that author's mouth butt/brain.
in native american folklore, werewolves were shapeshifters, people who turned from humans to actual wolves and back whenever they wanted.
http://yaiolani.tripod.com/ancient.htm
I'm pretty sure that those were
skinwalkers
. People that could turn into any animal they wished at any time. They just may have preferred a certain form, such as the wolf.
And the reason Worgen won't run on all fours is the same reason that Tauren didn't get plainwalking back in the original beta.

Well, a lycanthorpe is meant to be a wolf shape shifter heh(I mean, it's in the name), the over all thing for the different shapeshifting animals is called a Xenothrope heh. But yeah, the Native based ones are Skinwalkers, not lycans, those are from Europe... though, there are legends from all across the world after all.
