15 days is really quite a long time but that is in a game that now includes BoAs.
if it's your first then i wouldn't aim for speed anyway. take your time and enjoy it.

I have a 73 afflic Lock, I have like 15 days play time and for my first toon. Everybody say;s I'm lvling fast.
Sorry I didn't read the rest of your post after this sentence. 15 days of play time and only at 73 is insanely turtle-like amazingly slow. I don't know who "everybody" is but "everybody" is wrong.
Anyway for my 2 cents on the topic at hand; just to reiterate what Kappajoe said, if you like queueing in dungeons to break the monotony of questing like I do, destruction isn't a bad choice, just bring a lot of drinks!
Edit: Asawaka you are too fast at posting sir!

Affliction
Why is it the fastest? Because it has a constant health and mana regeneration, effective multi-mob control, and has good uses in off-hand PvP combat while leveling.
Why can it be bad? Because of its need to do multi-mob damage, it's ineffective in a group environment, and if you like doing dungeons, sucks to be you!
Demonology
Why is it the best? Because this spec, with its synergy with your demon, allows your Voidwalker to take a hell of a lot of damage, you won't be getting hit at all. Also, it allows you to easily take down elite monsters. On top of that, you actually have some utility in dungeons, and can provide a raid-wide buff (eventually).
Why can it be bad? You don't necessarily buff all of your damage, only select spells. Plus, if your demon dies, consider yourself dead as well (unless you got Fel Domination ready). Also, it's more difficult to handle multiple targets.
Destruction
Why is it the best? This spec destroys the competition. Perfect of dungeons and single targets.
Why is it bad? Really slow leveling, until you hit 60.
REALLY. SLOW. LEVELING.
Now, you could be a pretty nice guy and look at my thread, or you could just stay here and ask questions and other stuff.
Why do you insist that Destruction is Realy Slow Leveling?
I mean, it's killing stuff, and completing quests, and using LFD for dungeons etc. Isn't Destruction fine for that?
Cheers.

Destruction will level the slowest of all due to its higher downtime for mana breaks but if you don't mind going a little slower and like to see big numbers then it can still be fun, it just wouldn't be recommended if your goals for levelling are speed and efficiency.

You're also good at being obviously locked in thought.
"Destruction is better. Destruction is better. Destruction is better."
"where's your proof?"
"um... the FAQs from patch 3.0?"
Post by
asakawa
first things first, that FAQ is updated constantly.
if you thought it hadn't been updated since 3.0 then you're wrong.
if you think any of the info in that FAQ is out-dated then i'd ask you to say exactly what that is or not make accusations.
if you're just running out of ways to constructively make a point and are now looking for ways to insult me then you're a fool and i'm done.
as to the point you're failing to make, we have been having a discussion in another thread in which my position is that destruction is a better spec for LFD levelling.
this thread is about fastest levelling and i'm advocating affliction based levelling,
not
destruction.

Ahh, but you need to consider this point.
Isn't it faster to level queued for LFD and doing dungeons while you're questing? If so, and Destruction is better for LFD, and Affliction is better for questing, then which is better for LFD + Questing?
So, which would be fastest?
1. Affliction - No LFD.
2. Afflcition - With LFD.
3. Destruction - With LFD.
Cheers.

LFD with whatever spec will only be quick if you have rested XP. without rested XP i know i can get more XP/hour solo.
using a spec that is inefficient for LFD doesn't preclude its use. the difference between best and not best is actually fairly fine. tbh, i would recommend people use the spec they find most interesting or fun and not worry too much about optimising until end-game.

OK thanks. I think I'll try the Affliction build for both questing and LFD and see how it goes. I am level 12, and the only thing so far is that I've put 3 points in Corruption.
Cheers.
