What kind of logic is that? I make sure my sister only has her alloted forty five minutes of television, yet I can do the same for hours. Are you seriously going to say God has never once defied any of his laws?
Yup.
I'm pretty sure running rampant through Egypt murdering first born children classifies as breaking the commandment 'Thou Shalt not Kill.'
Those were his commandments to his followers, not the eternal laws of the universe.

Then your God is a hypocrite, and if he were one of his followers, he'd go to hell.
He kind of was one, as Jesus, in a way.

I disagree. Jesus = God. God = Jesus. You can't be a follower of yourself.

Only Sons of Perdition and the 1/3 go to hell (in my religion anyways).
I disagree. Jesus = God. God = Jesus. You can't be a follower of yourself.
Depends on what religion. I believe them to be 3 separate beings.
God, Jesus, Holy Ghost.

They're a Trinity. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
An analogy I've heard used was this:
The Trinity is like a book. You have the length of the book, the width of the book, and the depth(height) of the book. Each of these is a separate component that is one thing.

Very well, I'm pretty sure allowing Moses to:
A. Turn the Nile into blood.
B. Make it rain frogs.
C. Magically create an outburst of lice.
D. Create a disease that segregates Egyptian lifestock from Jewish lifestock, plaguing only the Egyptians, with a stick.
E. Again, magically create boils that could not be healed.
F. Make it rain hail and fire.
G. Summon a locust swarm.
H. Blot out the sun and create a darkness that you could physically feel on you it was so black.
I. Kill the firstborn children of every family that doesn't have lambs blood painted on it's door.
Counts as breaking the laws of physics, don't you?
Edit: Not to mention that the bible admits that magic (outside of God's power) exists, (the sorcerers of Egypt).

Counts as breaking the laws of physics, don't you?
A. Not sure on that one, you have me.
B. It's happened before in modern times. /shrug
C. He gathered the lice together and sent them off.
D. Not hard. Egyptian livestock was most likely kept separate and had different immunities and whatnot.
E.It's a disease. Considering the medical knowledge they had then...
F.Meteor storm
G.Locust swarms were around a lot. Not to difficult to gather them.
H. I'm not sure on this... perhaps a passing meteor or some such thing. (I have no idea how that would work it's just a theory.)
I. Perhaps a disease that was repelled by lambs blood.
And so what? It's the power of the devil or it was trickery.
Edit: Orranis, tell me truly. Was this entire thread just a way to bash against Christians, as those are the only people I've seen you argue. Never seen you ask an atheist how they prove there is no god, you haven't said anything on any others... And this has turned from a why your religion to prove God wrong.
This is rather pathetic.

That's not true - Orranis asked athiests why they can rule out that there is a God.
The thing is, the following facts exist:
1) Christians are the most represented religious people on the forum;
2) For whatever reason, the Christians on the forum feel the need to argue and justify what they're saying, from a logical basis, rather than simply stating that their belief is based on their faith, rather than a reasoned argument; and
3) No Buddhists, Hindus, Jews, Jehova's Witnesses, Jedis or members of any other religion have really spoken up. So there isn't anyone else to question.
You know me, I'm fairly reasonable when it comes to a logical argument. I believe that if a Muslim spoke up, Orranis would be arguing in the same way.
For the record - I like the link you provided on the Mormon view of the Trinity. Thanks for that.

No problem.
So Face, I overreacted. The reason I am so mad is the atheists that come on. Now, I don't mind debating with atheists at all, when they are reasonable. The ones that bother me are the ones that call us stupid, crap, superstitious etc.

Well, if you read the OP the whole idea is that I wanted to see why
your
God is correct. The idea is that I remember most Religious debates falling into 'Does God exist.' My question is, what makes your God any more valid then the others? So far all I've seen is people stating what they believe, or simply saying 'faith.' Suddenly there is an argument about whether God is subject to physical laws, and I butt in for lack of anything else to do. I am arguing it using Judaic/Christian examples because I know you are Christian, and thus it is the best way to reach you. If I had answered using, say, a Greek example, you could simply state that you don't believe in that pantheon.
Whether or not I think your responses to my argument are reasonable, I shall continue.
A. Despite God being the shape of man, he can still take the form of a cloud, a mass of condensed water vapors.
B. The ability to create the most intelligent life form we know of out of dirt in less than a day.
C. Talk to people through a burning bush (sounds like Moses was smoking that bush to me...)
Code was: Sugst.

A. Where is this? When did it happen?
B. I've heard the theory that God's time is different than ours, so a day for him may be a loooong time for us. (I know I know, it's just a theory I heard though. From my seminary teacher...
C. Holy flames? It was probably there just to catch Moses's attention and to give him a reference point while talking to God.
Whether or not I think your responses to my argument are reasonable, I shall continue.
And by this I assume you think my answers are
un
reasonable or it wouldn't be there at all.

God can manifest Himself in any way He see fit. When it says that They would make man in Their own image it was (IMO) meaning that He would have knowledge, wisdom, be lord over the beasts of the earth, etc.
He's God. He's omnipotent. He can do anything.
As I said in the first bullet, he can manifest himself in any way he wants to. I think if you saw a bush that was on fire but didn't burn, you'd sit up and take notice too. He wanted to grab Moses' attention.

A. Where is this? When did it happen?
In Exodus, when the tribes were lead through the desert in exile, God appeared as a cloud. Also Numbers notes it on very many occasions.
B. I've heard the theory that God's time is different than ours, so a day for him may be a loooong time for us. (I know I know, it's just a theory I heard though. From my seminary teacher...
Regardless, the particle components of dirt do not have everything required to create a human being.
C. Holy flames? It was probably there just to catch Moses's attention and to give him a reference point while talking to God.
Even then, there was a bush that could burn indefinitely 2 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush; and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

It was an angel, not God.

I believe he sent the cloud, not that he was the cloud.
You have assumed correctly.
I haz sad )= This is why I don't like to argue with atheists. Everything I say is unreasonable because it hinges on a belief of God.

Ahoy there folks. Just thought I should drop in an apologize for earlier. I have
SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder)
, and about this time (roughly between March and April) every year I get hit with some pretty severe mood swings, as you might have noticed today. I shouldn't have acted like that, and I'm sorry.

He's God. You can't define Him or bind Him with human laws such as physics.
