I say that all relgions are right, that they are all just mans' ways of interpreting the truth of it all, and, as we all know, everyone views things differently.
For example: the Christians were right because they worship the one, single god as the creator of all, but the Greek were right because they took tha tone, single good and broke him into several gods in an attempt to explain their existance.

And the scientologists are right because there actually is a Galactic Overlord Xenu who blew us up with hydrogen bomb volcanoes.
And how can a Muslim and an Atheist both be right? Atheists believe there is no god, Muslims believe that there is (among other things).
Or do you mean "Everyone is right except atheists?"

Edit: The counterargument is that this is how it was perceived by the writer of the Old Testament. But considering that it's supposed to be factually accurate, and guided by God, it's hard to take that as an excuse.
Meh. In all honesty I don't set much in store by the bible.
Then what do you use for your fundamental reference back to what God wants you to do? Isn't there the Book of Mormon or something, as well?
Yeah. The Book of Mormon, Pearl of Great Price and Doctrine and Covenants are the big three.

So when you're referring to the Bible, are you referring specifically to Old/New Testament, or the combination of all the books, including the ones you listed?

As I've been reading your posts in this thread, I've found it amusing that you can put forth entirely logical arguments, yet you're unable to apply that logic to science and actually think about it. Instead, you're trying to defend, essentially, a large, invisible humanoid that harbors in the sky somehow observing and judging all 7 billion people on this planet and their actions simultaneously.
Get with it.
You can't have been reading my posts that closely, if you didn't get the fact
that I have no religious beliefs
. Indeed, I suggest you
get with it
.

From
page 1
, less than half way down:
Anyway, I'm agnostic, for the very reason you specify in your opening post.
It's the hallmark of a good debater, to be able to argue logically for your own side.
It's the hallmark of a good
thinker
, to be able to argue logically for both sides. Commonly known as 'playing Devil's Advocate'.
If an agnostic/athiest comes up with an idea that can be shot down by one of their own, then obviously, the idea hasn't been thought through well enough. And as an agnostic, I don't want to be stereotyped just because a few others can't construct a logically sound theory.
That's why most Christians hate on athiests - the athiest argument generally comes down to precisely what you've said - "you're believing in imaginary things that can't be proven". But realistically, the 'imaginary things' can't be disproven either, so it's a very hypocritical argument. I prefer mine to be more bulletproof.
Anyway, in the most recent line of mine that you've quoted, I'm querying about the fundamentals of the Mormon faith. Gathering information, you might say. I find it incredibly hard to disprove an idea if I don't know anything about it. That's probably why you're having a difficult time in shooting me and my beliefs down, because you don't know enough about me.

It's not up to Atheists to disprove Christianity.
If I told you there's a space whale hiding behind Neptune, it's not up to everyone who disagrees to disprove my bull!@#$.
There is no hypocrisy in your hypothetical argument.
Saddam Hussein and his WMDs may have something to disagree with you about.
Edit: But in all honesty, that's something that *can* be proven or disproven. Existance of a God can't. If you claim there's a space whale behind Neptune, I'll go around and look, point at the fact that it's not there, and disprove it. But I won't disregard what you're saying without checking.

Everyone that belives there is something. And scientologists... I've seen a few comedians that base some jokes around that, so its hard to say I don't think that they're completely insane... but to say that they arn't right would go against what I said.
For me, it boils down to this: as long as you belive in something, you're correct.

One of these religions have to be wrong.Actually, they don't. Look at Roman and Greek beliefs in their Pantheon; except for different names, they were the exact same gods.

Are you going to argue that Buddhism and Judaism are like that though and even though they have huge differences, they are the same?
No, I'm just saying "There is no one way" or even one truth; for all we know, the One Creator(can't think of a better term for it), is literally every creation god/goddess rolled into one, and we all just see a different face depending on which religion we follow.
