Isn't it more fun to win with your favorites?
Heck yes. I laugh when I fight Meta Knights as Wolf, beat them, and watch them go "WTF HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE I WAS META KNIGHT!"
Sableye I just keep around because he is awesome =P
And this might be a bit better in Randomness.
Edit: Epic grammerz failure

Meta Knight is only the best character at pro levels. Until then, there are only easier-to-use characters.
The same goes for WoW characters. While there are "flavors of the month", these are only the class that is easiest to be good with at the time.
I guarantee a skilled player could kill a FotM class with their preferred class any day.

I can't count how times I played against a person with a Sableye, Spiritomb or Shedinja over wi-fi.
I was forced to learn how to use Snake because of all the people abusing Dedede's down-throw in Super Smash Brothers.
Hell, forget being a clothie and trying to do battlegrounds in WoW.
Is it really so fun to use the same flavor-of-the-month characters as everyone else? Isn't it more fun to win with your favorites?
Those pokemon have horrible movesets and are almost worthless in real competitive play. Let them use them all they want while you pick better ones.
Anyway, yes, winning with your favorites is always better than winning with the best. Sadly my favorite pokemon is considered very, very weak so it gets left aside as a mascot for me ^^;

I never really played Melee, but in the original and Brawl, Pikachu is a good beginner character and insane if you are really good. My favs are still Jiggles and Ness...
That being said, I think that everyone would agree that winning with your favorites is more fun, but sometimes your favorite class may be one of the harder ones to master.

wait why is this in wow general? and not say randomness?
Because of...

If the thread keeps going the way it is, though, it belongs in Randomness.
On WoW topic, I give FotM classes a go, mainly as a method of selecting my latest alt (I honestly enjoy leveling, sue me >.>).
On overall topic, some people only have fun when they when. When I just want to have fun in Brawl, I play Dedede and bellyflop everyone, and when I'm playing (somewhat) seriously, I choose a character like Peach or ROB (my two best when I'm not rusty from not playing for a few months).
Edit: It got moved while I was posting >.>

This.
Smogon
rates them all at NU or UU. Get something with decent stats and blow them to bits.
Besides which, Shedinja's bug/ghost. It's pretty hard to think of something that its ability WILL protect it against.
This nerdgasm makes me want to start playing pokemon again...

I actually had this discussion with my girlfriend last night, after I was ranting about constant changes to Zoo Paradise making my previously optimal decisions non-optimal now.
She was asking - what happened to playing for fun?
My reply - by min/maxing, you typically get access to better things, which make the experience more fun. No matter what you're playing for.
I'd rather be playing an OP-style character (Ice Climbers with twin lightsabers, anyone?) and not spending all my gaming time lying as a corpse somewhere.
I'll happily play a less OP character if it's something that I like. But I'm not going to nerf myself for the sake of not being OP.

Is it fun playing a L20 untwinked mage in a L20-29 battleground?
Is it fun playing a L29 twinked rogue in a L20-29 battleground?
The answers to those two questions should just about wrap up the topic.

Well, this is the point. Playing something that's not competitive isn't fun. That's why people were hating on the twinks in BGs prior to the new exp-gain system.

This^^
And whenever you use his B move it sounds like he's hurling.
All in all
