I don't like abortion 90% of the time, but this isn't the right way to stop it from happening.

I don't like abortion 100% of the time. I find it interesting that the title of this thread includes 'barbaric' as a descriptive term to people trying to dissuade abortion, yet abortion itself is the murder of one's own child, which is the only truely barbaric act I see here.
Also, I don't get how this is getting 'raped' by doctors at all.

Stop trying to stir up trouble.

I said rape is ok? Where? I NEVER SAID RAPE IS OK. I said I don't get how an
ultrasound
is
rape
. How is this stirring up trouble?
When will you learn that I will not let you put words into my mouth without getting called out on it?

You obviously didn't read the article.
Also, you did say rape is ok.
yet abortion itself is the murder of one's own child, which is the only truely barbaric act I see here.

I read the article and I see nothing about the legislation allowing rape. I see the legislation hindering abortion, and abortion is barbaric.
If you try to say I think rape is 'ok' again, I'll report you.

I disagree strongly with the law, but the use of the word 'rape' is probably ever-so-slightly sensationalist.
To my mind, rape is when a person is unable to say no, or when no is not taken for an answer. Neither of those things are applicable in this situation. What we have here is an instance where saying no has a completely non-sexual cost involved. An unfair cost, to my mind, but that's still quite different from rape.

Exactly. This is not 'rape'. Nowhere did I say that I think rape is 'ok'. I just don't think that an ultrasound is rape.

Not when it's voluntary, no. That was my problem with the use of the term 'rape'. If a woman had no choice about the procedure outlined and it was administered anyway, that would DEFINITELY be rape.

Explain.
I know you didn't because then you would understand why I am saying that you are saying that you approve of rape by approving of this legislation. Read the damn article.
You, MyTie, approve of rape if you are not against this legislation. Report it if you please, it is the truth.

Ugh, this is nauseating. Also written by
male
lawmakers mostly I'm sure. And it seems to be written from the perspective that people get abortions because they
want
to kill their child -- and this might somehow make them see the error of their ways. It's already one of the most mentally damaging things someone can go through, this only makes it worse.
People who are pro-choice are not pro-abortion. Abortion is not usually the problem, its simply a
symptom
of a larger problem -- all of these Anti-Abortion activities are like trying to put out a fire by spraying water at the flames, and not the base.
Everyone
wants less abortions, this is not the right way to that goal.

Read the second link. Read what is inserted where, and tell me that forcing a woman to insert something into herself isn't rape.
LOL. I love how the description of the procedure has it set in a 'dark' room. All that's missing is the hooded torture master and screaming caged minions.
Seriously, she's about to have a massive amount of tools shoved up her in order to kill her baby. Adding a ultrasound camera, which is very small, to the procedure isn't ZOMG RAPE!

This is just as ridiculous as me saying 'You, TheMediator, approve of abortion if you are not for this legislation'. You're arguement is flawed. You have dipped down to intimidation and slanting my words to try and shut me up. You are not worthy of my time anymore. Be gone.
