But what would the consequences be of the drug? There's a reason it's illegal.
But not for the reason you think it is - think money.

You realize that there wouldn't be a drug war, or at least one that has anything to do with the average American pot smoker, if it was legal in the U.S.?
But what would the consequences be of the drug? There's a reason it's illegal.
Jee, I don't know...
A release of dopamine, making the user happy, as terrible as it sounds.
Near to no risk of physical health problems, unless of course you have asthma or are allergic, and no mental problems that can be directly linked to it?
I just realized you said pot >_<
I was mainly thinking meth and the like (which is what the war is mainly being fought over.) I've been to classes on the effects of drugs. It isn't pretty. (I know I know, personal experience>class. But sometimes classes are good right?)
But not for the reason you think it is - think money.
Care to elaborate? There's a lot of money that comes in, but I'm not sure I'm thinking the same thing you are.

I advocate personal freedoms, but the main difference between pot and meth is this:
One is about as addictive as chocolate, the other is much more and has much worse repercussions.
So one might not be perfectly free to choose to take or not take meth.

Actually, a huge reason pot is still illegal is pressure from the tobacco companies - think money.

That's actually something I'm okay with. I would prefer for both cigs and marijuana to be outlawed then marijuana and not cigs, simply because it isn't hypocritical. It should be based on the governments views, not the cash flow. If the government doesn't think that those should be illegal, while I disagree, at least for pot (call me a hypocrit, but at least it has beneficial effects), I am okay with that.
If it's just tobacco because it's about corruption and cash, then they can go screw themselves.

In addition to the Tobacco industry, there's the pharmaceutical industry as well. My dad... erm... partakes to help him with his PTSD, and it's given him a lot better results than a lot of the other drugs they keep pumping into him... (Not that I oppose perscription drugs, merely the corrupt system.)
The difference is, you can't patent a plant.

I have to agree with interest. I'd place you either in lawful neutral or neutral evil.
Edit: looks like he also said lawful neutral. lol
