You'd be surprised. I've found cases where people went to pretty extreme measures. There have even been cases of murder and suicide due to video game addiction.
They had to have something deeper wrong with them, then just an addiction to a video game.

Perhaps, but the addiction or desire to play video games played a big role in most of those cases.
Yeah, but it wasn't just the game that made them kill themselves... no matter how the media paints it; it's like the messed up people who used to kill themselves when their D&D Characters died in a game(yes it's was a rumour... which is more or less what this is as well).
