You compare it to murder or rape; I'm not an A+ biology student but I don't think there's a "rape gene".There is no conclusive proof that there is a rape gene... though some scientist think they've found it, but can't prove it.
i am pretty sure it was proven.
Though for the criminal gene, i am certain
Criminal gene maybe, but not the rape one; while they found an abnormal gene in a few serial rapists, they didn't find it in all of them.

Hmm. Well, I guess I just see it how it really doesn't hurt anyone. Even if you have this "rape gene", you need to make the conscious decision to rape someone to do it. This negatively affects another person. A consensual, healthy homosexual relationship does not negatively affect anyone (no matter what some fundamentalists like to say). I suppose another part of my interpretation of "unnaturalness" is that, even if a human is predisposed to something that is just completely and utterly wrong, like rape or murder, it's still considered unnatural if they do it. Of course, there are those who believe homosexuality is completely and utterly wrong.
Then, of course, there's another interpretation; that rape and murder, while absolutely, utterly horrible and despicable on every level, are natural in those with the right genes.
And what makes "hurt" the be-all end-all measure of right/wrong?

I will give you a nice example Skreeran. (I will not even say that when we refer to how gene affect our character, scientists use that term exactly, "affect", not shape, and there is a reason for that)
MalcomX was a scumbag criminal. He was a murderer, a junky and generally a person you wouldn't want your child to mess with.
Then, he was sent to prison at his ~30's were he became a devout muslim, he fought for blacks to have equal rights etc etc.
Did anything happen there? He was converted to the nation of Islam, and changed his beliefs.
He had a change in his nurture, which changed his character. There are two parts of a person that make them who they are: Nature and Nurture. That is to say, what influences their character biologically, and what influences their character psychologically.
What we think of when we think of homosexuality come from both catagories. There is the biological, genetic attraction to the same sex, and there is the psychological mindset that comes with Gay culture.
A black man can be raised with the mannerisms of a white man, but he is still black. He can't change that. It's genetic. It's biological. A white man can be raised in a black community and talk and act in a manner unlike many other white people, but he is still white. It's just how he was born.
edit: there is both a criminality and a rape gene actually.BULL. @#$%.
Show me the research, or I'll continue to believe you're talking out of your ass.
Where did I speak against it? Hmmm? The only thing I've argued against is the idea that if something is caused by genes, it is natural and therefore acceptable. You're arguing against your imagination. You're essentially saying that homosexual behavior is a bad thing.
Do you agree?
I'm not sure what you're doing....trying to put words in my mouth? Yes I take offense at anal sex, oral sex, and condoms.I see.
Well then, why don't you do what you want with your partner, and let everyone else do what they want?
I, for one, believe that homosexuality is natural. It's perhaps not... normal, standard... but it is arises from natural causes.
It is hurting some fanatical Christians.
How is it hurting them?
it is offending themReligious belief offends me. Thus, is is hurting me. Thus, it is unacceptable. Thus, it should stop.
See what wonders of logic you can perform when you think that way?
And you know what, maybe you're offending gay people by telling them how to live their lives.

You're associating "natural" with "right" and "unnatural" with "wrong".
Seriously?
...
Seriously?

. You're arguing against your imagination.
I do believe you have me confused with someone else.
I've been arguing for the past 5 pages that they have nothing to do with each other.

As far as the topic brought up in this thread is concerned (i.e. genetics)? No, I have "essentially said" no such thing.
I brought up my personal beliefs because you asked, and I made blatantly clear that it had nothing to do with the topic.
Well then, why don't you do what you want with your partner, and let everyone else do what they want?
You're not making sense. How am I not letting you (or anyone) have anal sex? Do I have a gun to your head? I stated that I believe it is wrong. Show me where I said anything even remotely to the effect that I wasn't going to let you have sex.
Seriously. Stop picking fights where there are none.

Arathian has a point.
Everything in this world will offend someone. Homosexuality, being black, dancing, breathing, not being emo, being emo, liking chocolate <you name it> will offend someone.
That was directed at people asking "who was offended". People ARE offended. Does this make me to have to agree with them? or make them feel less offended? No
But saying no one is offended is retarded
By posting this, I will offend someone. Do I care? Nope.
Why does it matter how someone came to be homosexual? Its their choice (If indeed it is not natural) or natures choice, is there anything we should do about it? Hell no.
What is so wrong about it? Surely there are much worse acts out there? Or is it because they are different that we feel the need to persecute them?
I am not a religious person, so there is nothing that any bible that will prove anything to me. But from what I've seen people say, murder, rape, and the like are wrong, and so is homosexuality, but it seems that homosexuality is the one most persecuted, despite it being the "lesser" evil among them.
