Um, wow goes disney, right?
Ehh, i dont like there eyes, the male worgen have a lot rougher appearance which i really like, the females, atleast from these pictures looks to "put together" , but i have to say this would be a toughe female race to make without having someone not liking the model.
lol when did the horde ever deserve WG? damn haxorz........
Ok.. Now no one from the actual Blizz Worgen design team (If there’s even a team) is probably going look at this forum, so I’m probably talking to a wall. But at least I can point out some major flaws in the designs of the Worgen I’ve been seeing to someone who has connections. Being an artist who’s studied comparative anatomy of humans and animals, as well as evolution among other things I see many things at fault here. The Feet and HandsConcerning the legs, more importantly the foot and let me clarify since I read in a past post someone refer to the “Inverted Legs” that is a common misconception made by anyone who hasn’t seen the bone structure of an animal and that of a human side by side. Such a leg structure is referred to as Digitigrade (Meaning the creature walks on its tiptoes rather then the balls of its feet). The “Inverted” part is in reality the heel. *gasp* I know right? Well At least Ill be able to teach someone something if they had the patience to read this far. Ok well.. Ill have you all know I love the concept of them having Digitigrade legs, a much better concept then just a dog head on a humans body in my opinion. Now on to the real problem at hand, the THREE toes and FOUR fingers thing! When I saw this I was like OMG WTF? Now it’s bad enough I have to see the horrible beast designs in this game, but now they did it to the WORGEN TOO? I mean the last time I looked Humans have five fingers and toes, and since Worgen were Human once WHAT happened to their other digits? They should have 5 fingers on their hands and four toes with a due claw (Due Claw-A small unmovable 5th digit of some animals front feet) Please get yourselves a book on anatomy or just Google image a wolf’s and human’s feet/hands Blizz, or even get that guy who designed the Latest Druid Models he knows what he’s doing…TailsOk on to the next, concerning tails. Now I don’t know why they’ve been classified as a fetish or a trade mark of furries on here. Having these chars added is going to flock such people tails or no tails. I personally don’t care if they have them. But Id also like to point out that having them would make sense. Humans actually have a tail bone and some children are even born with a tail, of sorts, which is then removed, an “Evolutionary through back” some call it. As for balance a tail would most likely prevent the creature from falling head over heals while running, having those digitigrade feet and all. On the animal side of things, tailed animals especially Wolves use their tails for rather important things, most of all communication (I could go into detail on how that is, but I think I’ve taken up enough of the drawing board thus far.) So in the long run there are no real reasons for them not to have tails though there are reasons they would. The FurlessnessNow I’m sure that this is going to be fixed, for its far too trivial and obvious to not be. It looks to me like these are only textured 3D models that are shown. “Scruffiness” will probably be added with 2D additions, as it looks like that’s how Blizz does things. If that’s not true and it is indeed being overlooked as a problem Id like to say that there does need to be longer fur in spots, namely on the sides of the head, the neck, chest and back (if it is to be shown.).The HeadIt does look too Fox like; the small pointed snout (Which I might add is a bit too low placed on the face) is the cause of that. I would not call it cute though (Once snarling, teeth bared, angry becomes “cute” then I may change my standing) people thinking it looks cat like is coming from the fact that the forehead is to too large (Which is an effect from the snout placement). The ears are too pointed adding to the cat problem (Might be fixed with the addition of hair though), and the general roundness of the face is not helping matters either. But we must keep in mind that it is “2D Hairless” atm. In reality Female and Male wolf heads are very similar in form, which is most likely why they have gone in the Fox direction with this. But I must point out that a fox does not belong to the Canine Family but rather the Vulpes. Though their forms are very much identical though smaller.Well thank you for reading this and I hope that Blizz takes in account of it. Sorry for such a long post too, but 35 pages of discussion is a lot to stumble upon.
I think you need more hair behind the ears as well. other then that, looking good!
yes they need to be more wolf like.
it's just a preview with no hair stiles it's isn't the finished product. hopefully they will continue to update there progress on it. who knows maybe they will take ladrem's advice on it or at least find some one ealse that knows what there doing
Meh, I'm kinda disappointed. Looks more like a cat in my opinion. It's still sick nonetheless though, was just expecting something a little better. :)
