Meh, even if it does become unavailable to players, I'm glad to say I have it on the one character I have that can use it.

Yeah yeah, necro I know.
Anyways, it is the real Gorehowl, given to Garrosh on his return to Orgrimmar by Thrall and Etrigg, as of the Shattering.

According to our Cata page, it'll still be obtainable
. No word on whether or not that will change.

Regardless of how it turns out, I feel good that I grabbed Gorehowl on my pally a few days back. I look forward to the day when I kill Garrosh with it.
you know I was just thinking that. Given I've said I'll let the alliance kill Garrosh when they do and not form any defense raids, I'd laugh if someone in a raid used the gorehowl on him.
Call it justice for cairne.

I personally don't think that the one in Karazhan is the "real" one. Karazhan is like if you put space and time in a blender and pulsed thoroughly for half a minute, before spreading in a 8x10 greased pan, baking at 350° for 45 minutes, and letting cool before serving.
It's quite possible that the Gorehowl in Karazhan is a copy of the axe from the future, the past, or even another universe altogether.

Warcraft lore is what Blizz says it is at the moment.

On normal difficulty Blood Furnace a axe of that model drops. Whos to say that Garrosh farmed Karazhan? Maybe he just did Blood Furnace.

You know how karazhan worked. It was set on the leylines with a gathering of so much magical energy that it allowed vision of the past, present, and maybe even future. If the magics actully allowed a gateway in karazhan to open, whos to say it was a portal into the twisting nether... or a portal into another place in time, even the future?
