The only really horrible reffing I've seen this year was the Germany/Serbia match. It brought back memories from Italy-USA in the last World Cup.
The US will have to really hammer Algeria in order to advance through groups. I don't know if they can do it.
I'm hoping England will lose, just to keep England consistent with losing in the World Cup :P
Aus v Germany we got a soft red card cos some German wanker milked the penalty.
and Quarter Finals last World Cup Aus v Italy 0-0 90 minutes and one of the !@#got strikers takes a dive in the box and the ref awards the penalty

Man, I feel your pain, not just my country getting cheated out before. But see when Italy got through off that dive? I raged so hard, cheaters getting ahead annoys me more than a lot of things, and Australia deserved so much more from that World Cup.
In other news, England, here we go, I know its hard for you to admit it, but for a team to do well in the World Cup, the sum of your parts has to equal more than your parts individually. England have some world class players, but there is something about you as a team that really..really suck hard in world cups.
I understand this, but what annoys me more than anything is that, if Scotland or Wales get into a World Cup they say, 'We're going to give it our best shot, try our hardest and see what happens' and people from other countries in the UK say ok we'll root for you when you play.
Now take England, every 4 years its 'ENGLAND ARE GOING TO WIN, WE'RE THE BEST ITS OUR TIME' and you
never
do as good as you think.
If you were modest about it and realised there is a possibility of you losing (which you inevitably will) I would root for you as a neighbouring country. Generally you need to take your head out of your asses and realise that as a team you need to start working harder.

So disappointed with last night's game, they were acting like they didn't want to win, was a truly boring game where no one shined. We have the players but something just isn't working, whether it's Capello or something else.

Defoe should have started.

Ok, so I'm Australian and somewhat biased, but the red card on Kewell was just a little bit harsh....

Now taking bets on which Australian player will get red carded in the next match.
You all know it's going to happen

Maybe the red card was over the top, but the handball was obvious and the PK justified. Hard to judge whether a handball is intentional, but the ref thought it was ... so, that's an instant red card in that situation.
Definitely a tough break for the Australian team, though.
Definitely the PK, sure, but given the scoring opportunities in the 2nd half, chances are at least one of them would've been converted with an extra person on the field....

My money's on Cahill again. As I was saying to one of my mates during half time - we shouldn't lose hope, after all, we've got the most 10-man experience in the world cup :P

Overall a shockingly RNG-heavy tournament.

It's amazing. The team the laest likely to win the cup holds down the current champion.
My money's on Spain though. I'm crossing my fingers for Argentine vs Spain as the final.

Can't wait for Brazil vs. Ivory Coast.
