Great!
Tell me what your running!
CPU:
Motherboard:
RAM:
Video Card
OS:
How do you like it so far? Why did you choose the brands?
How is it in 25m raids? What about Battlegrounds (etc Wintergrasp?)
I'm done with my computer. I've had it and it's about time I get up to date with todays technology. It's a 10year old computer and it has worked very good ever since I got it but the AGP, 754 and 3G of RAM (400mhz bus) has got to go!. Never had any issues with it but now it's time to start shopping around. I like to get reviews from people who actually play the game that I enjoy the most so this is why I'm asking.
Thanks for your time!

How much can you afford to spend? I'm sure a few of us would enjoy selecting components for you. Would you be comfortable assembling your own computer?

Sorry I didn't mention that...
I have up to $1,000 and would like to build my own.

If you can hang until I get some things done, I'll paste links to my rig. Do you need monitor/keyboard/mouse too? I spent $800 on my rig without those three, though the price is down a bit by now I'm sure.

Don't need a Monitor/keyboard/mouse.
Just what's in the BOX
If you could include the CASE too that would be awesome! I need a new one..

Heh, I actually found the old confirmation email...
Case ( Nzxt Alpha Gaming Tower Case w/420W Power Supply Black )
Case Lighting ( None )
Power Supply ( Standard Case Power Supply )
Processor ( AMD Phenom™ II X4 810 Quad-Core CPU w/ HyperTransport Technology AM3 & AM2+ support )
Processor Cooling ( Thermaltake MaxOrb CPU Cooling Fan System Kit Silent & Overclocking Proof = Maximum cooling efficiency for quietness and performance )
Motherboard ( Asus M3A78-CM AMD 780V/SB700 Chipset w/Integrated ATI video, 8-channels, Gb LAN, S-ATA Raid, USB 2.0, Single PCI-E MB )
Memory ( 4 GB DDR2-800 PC6400 Memory Module Corsair-Value or Major Brand )
Video Card ( NVIDIA GeForce 9800GT 1GB w/DVI + TV Out Video )
Video Card Brand ( === High Performance === eVGA Brand Video Card Powered by NVIDIA )
Im running Win XP Pro SP2 (no, I dont know why I refuse to use SP3) and it will run just about anything I throw at it. I dont do 25 man raids, but it doesnt miss a beat at WG on mostly high settings. I got it to run at near 100 FPS anywhere that wasnt Dal by tweaking all the settings down.
The tower, pre-built, cost me around 700 USD over a year ago. Im sure you can do MUCH better building yourself with 1k today.
That looks like a good set up. I love ASUS boards but I'm not fan of Nvidia much rather prefer ATI but things may have changed these days.
I was advised to get the Radeon 5770 cause of the DirectX 11.0 not quite sure yet though.. I still want see what other people have.
I'm running WinXP Pro SP3 ATM have had no problems..
BTW I have Win7 64Bit on STANDBY for my new system

I'll preface this by saying that this computer runs WoW pretty damned well. I turned all the graphics settings to max and never see below 40 fps.

(Can probably find a Phenom II X4 for around $100, which is what I paid for this dual core)
CPU Cooler
(Newegg.com is charging double for this right now. Try Amazon or TigerDirect)

Just to give you an idea of what I am currently running:
Motherboard – ASUS K8N - motherboard - ATX - nForce3 250 - Socket 754
CPU – AMD Athlon 64 3200+
Video Card - nVidia GeForce 7600GS 7600 GS 512MB AGP Video Card
RAM – (3 Gigs) Corsair Value Select 2 GB : 2 x 1 GB Memory - DIMM 184-pin - 400 MHz ( PC3200 )
I get about 2-5 FPS in 25mans / WGs everything on LOW settings. Don't know how I did it but I did it but I did it.
Dalaran about the same depending on the time of day. When I head up Orgrimmar I'm sitting at around 20-30fps. Funny how big of a difference it is...

I don't think he is, otherwise I'd know.

I'm more interested in what settings he's using to overclock it to 4.2ghz. There's no way he's doing that without liquid cooling, don't even have to ask there ^_^

I don't know why I'm afraid to get an Intel. I'm so use to getting AMD's ever since I starting building my own computers and never had a problem with them. Maybe just maybe I'll have a change of heart..
I'm slowly putting everything together. Still going on websites for reviews.
I'll have it all by Wednesday next week and I'll let you guys know what I ended up buying.
