All lights in the room save for the green flame go out. The room is now pitch black except for an area around the flame. No other part of the room is visible. If any raid member leaves the circle of light, they take a large amount of shadow damage. Ghosts of the slaughtered soldiers begin to run into the circle of light from out of the darkness. I really like this part, could be interesting.
I second this. I think a mechanic that actually took all of the light out of an area would be nice and creepy. I also like the idea of the moving light that has to be followed. Cool idea.
I also like the raid idea over-all but agree that add management on every fight could get tiring.
Some appropriately creepy music would be bump it up a notch as well.

Wow...just Wow, i mean that in a good way, its just in writing but, you wrote it so well i actually could see my guild running through it, The boss fights may need tweaking but they are definately possible. As a big a lore hub as the ToS is i think a hard and frustrating set of encounters is just what it deserves. The lich king, the figure-head of wotlk. He was easy, i get that casuals and part-time raiders deserve to see him, but they took it to far, most of the fight is phase 2 with the valks, and thats just dropping debuff, kill add, dps boss rinse and repeat till transition.
This raid idea, To me i can see if it was made and made well no shortcuts to release quicker for more money, it may just kick start the process of getting raid loot an achievement and not a 3 hour walk to a chest of loot.
I tip my hat to you sir, you have came up with a great raid for a big point in lore giving gul'dan the hair pulling encounter he deserves. I suggest posting this on the official suggestion forums, if this happened i might actually be interested with the raids.
Job well done

Hmm...
Overall
it wasn't bad. It nags me a little that a raid instance of as much lore-ness as the Tomb of Sargeras has some measly 3 bosses, but let's leave that for now.
One thing that bothers me is that add management is huge for all three fights - heck, for the entire raid. That's most of what tanks are doing. Rem'khor (an ogre?) is untankable, Naisha is range-tanked, one third of Gul'dan does not require a tank on him. There is a lot of CC going out to the raid, and almost none of it is preventable. And I just can't wrap my head around Naisha being a naga - it would be more fitting,
I think, if she had remained a night elf, but had gone mad. It just doesn't feel right for her to be transformed.
I did think of that, but honestly, the idea of "Omg, they went insane, go kill em" has been overdone. If you played through Warcraft III, you could see that Kael'thas was pure good guy. He hated the Legion almost as much as he hated the Scourge. And yet, when TBC rolled around, he 'went insane' and all of a sudden we had to kill him. Same for Illidan. He was a good guy who went about doing things the wrong way, not out of evil but because he truly thought he was doing good. He did try to destroy the Scourge in the end too, even if it was to save himself from Kil'jaeden. Then like Kael, he's suddenly evil. Malygos has pretty much the same story.
With Naisha, her backstory could be somewhat different. She survives the cave-in, and is captured by the Naga. They torture her and twist her mind, then transform her into a Naga. Makes more sense the "lol, I R insane nao, kill meh pl0x".

Erm, Sargeras himself have never actually died.. It was his avatar that was killed and entombed. Not that that weren't powerful, it took Aegwynn to kill him, but still.
And the Dragon Aspects don't "embody creation", they were placed as watchers and safekeepers of Azeroth by the Creators, AKA the Titans.
Plus, the avatars sarcophagus would have to be
huge
, if this
pic
is any indicator.

TL;DR what is this all about?

I read all of it and tried to think of how this would play out as an actual raid. To me as a Tank this seems like a tremendous pain in the arse for me in terms of just Tanking it. But it seems like the Healers would run out of Mana halfway through the fights, but I'm basing this solely on the amount of raw raid damage going on. Blizzard said they wanted healers to be more self conscious about who they're healing and what they're healing that person with. So it definitley brings interest to me to see how well the DPSers can keep themselves alive.

It's about a user-created dungeon that sounds like something amazing to throw into a Warcraft RPG campaign, or a regular DnD one with minor modifications.

yes but the lore also says that Sargeras was tied to the host body and couldn't return to Azeroth until it was destroyed or he could rejoin with it, hence why she entombed it in the first place and why the Demons guarded it against Gul'dan (who they may have thought came to destroy it).
Sure she was a guardian but she was still 1 person, a raid with a bunch of level 85s would probably balance the equation.
Except Sargeras soul/copy/avatar essence was inside of Aegwynn, then put into Medivh, and it was sent back into the screaming dark when Medivh died originally.

I wasn't expecting this thread to get resurrected.

Eh. Doubt it.
