friend in beta confirms new pet abilities are in the beta.
(and annoyingly he can log into beta fine but we're having login issues for live realms at the moment in europe >.<)

Found some videos of it last night
Imp
Felguard
Felguard new moves:
Axe toss: 4 second stun ranged attack 30 second cd
Felstorm: Same as arms warriors bladestorm 45 second cd
Legion strike: Like cleave but also applies a MS effect on the main target 6 second cd
Pursuit: Replace intercept. Charges target (No stun anymore:( )
and gives the felguard a 30% speed increase.
Imp:
Flee: imp returns to its master removing all stun snare and movement impairing effects on the imp 20 second cd
Singe: Removes 1 harmful effect from the target but also deals 178 damage to target 6 second cd

also got some confirmation on a couple of other random things.
felguard abilities
do
add up to plenty of AoE damage O.o
guardian demons both work as described:
shared cooldown.
don't desummon normal pet.
infernal = melee range, AoE
DG = ranged, single target
they only attack what you've used a bane on.
still haven't seen BoD proc a demon.
immo aura is still in so is mobile AoE-win.
hellfire still seems to damage the caster. did i imagine them saying this was changing?

Infernal=massive damage
From that felguard video what i saw.
11k crit just from summoning infernal reg hits are 3300 and crits 6600 and 900 or so damage from his fire aura.

yup, my friend said something corroborative particularly about the initial damage of the infernal summon.
numbers will get balanced but the abilities themselves (for felguard specifically) look very nice from my (PvE) PoV.
(edit = typo)

Indeed while i think blizz intent was to make the felguard more viable for pvp the buffs were great for pve too.
Only part i hate to see go is demonic frenzy :(
All he needs now is a hamstring (Or i guess they could just make warriors enslavable)

Sounds like I'll be playing a warrior and a warlock come cata...except I'll only have one character still and my warrior will be far more awesome than the others in my raid...Unless we get some more Demo locks ^_^

^This. Forever and ever this. Or maybe we could enslave rogues.... Actually theres a point.... if blizz want to give us a new demon we don't really have a rogue like one. Unless you count the Succubus

Unless you count the Succubus
yes.

So.....
you guys looking forward to play your lock in cata?
And for what reasons? Do you also have some worries?
I for one am, but that also has a lot to do with having chosen hunter for wotlk-raiding and have been regretting it, but guild was too deep into progressing ICC25 hc for me to suddenly swap mains.
I hope affliction holds up in cata, its already a good build that I like on live but with so many trees changing I wonder if it will hold up. Destro has always been to 'magey' for me, and while demo doesn't feel as bad something in me screams MOAR DOTS! when I think about playing a lock.

I am actually looking fowrad to it alot. I think I want to roll a new one, probably a worgan for the new starting zone. I'm not sure if I'll do that first or level to 85 on my main's first... One thing I'm looking forward to is with the spells/abilities now scaling with level we won't have to go to trainers as often for new ranks. And I do like the new trees if I'm honest about it. My main worry/concern with cata is last I heard (I duno if this is still current though) is they are going to be releasing new raid's really really slowly, and that doesn't sound too great.

That indeed would be something to worry about. But to be honest I never got that impression from reading beta news.Anything specific you read or just an impression?

I can't really recall. I think it had something to do with they (blizz) wanted the hardcore raiders to get out and do more achieves and stuff outside of raids. Which imo is stupid. We pay to play this damn thing every month so why should we be told "Oh no sorry you can't do that yet. Hey why not try fishing?". But yeah I'm not sure if it was a post somewhere or a podcast I got that from. Definitely one of the two though.

while "we want people to try everything the game has to offer" sounds like something blizz might say, "we're going to purposely release content slower than we can actually create to to force people to do this" absolutely does not.
if you heard the latter it's likely some idiot reading too much into the former and isn't something i would lend any credence to at all.

Maybe they will make raids so hard in cata no one will even beat the first one and they will never need to make another raid :)
For me i am looking forward to rated battlegrounds and having demo as a viable pvp spec.
