The hardest boss to tank

Illidan had his
Shear
. Patchwerk had his crazy damage. Yogg has his
Sanity
debuff. Arthas has....well, I've never seen Arthas, but I hear it's a tough fight. But for me, the hardest boss I've tanked goes to Ahune, the Frost Lord. Good lord! It's so
chaotic
in there. There are adds
everywhere
. I'm thunder clapping and cleaving and shockwaving like a madman. What makes it so tough is that I never really know if I've got them all, you know? I'm running around and spamming so fast I never really know how I'm doing as a tank. Are people taking damage? I don't have time to look. I just try to grab everything and hope for the best. The spell effects from the adds and all the crazy AoE from the party hide everything. I've never wiped on him and no one has complained, but still. That's one fight where I just have no idea if I'm doing it right or not. Yeah, yeah, he's not endgame content and "zomg hes so ez l2tank n00b". I'm just saying. It's a crazy, chaotic fight.
What about you? What's been your hardest boss so far?

The first phase of Ahune has never really been crazy for me. The adds only have 18k health and they spawn in twos. They normally spawn relatively close to each other, so wait for them both to spawn, thunderclap, and do a single Revenge/Cleave combo. The adds spawn every 6 seconds or so (at least, I notice that TC is coming off CD just as two more appear).
If your group is smart, melee are assisting on adds and any ranged are attacking Ahune.
If your group isn't smart, and your ranged are NOT attacking Ahune, it is likely he'll go Core, you'll get him to like 20% or so, and he'll come back up.
The second phase of Ahune has the same 2 adds from the first phase, with an additional different add. I haven't really payed attention to what the new one does, but I do know that adds can really start stacking up. That's why ranged should burn 20 or 30% off the boss during phase 1, so you ensure you push in one core phase.
As for hardest boss to tank... I guess there are three categories to look at. Tank Damage, Tank Movement, and Boss Mechanics.
For Tank Damage you can't get much worse than Sindragosa 25H or LK 25H. The tank is in nearly constant danger during those fights.
For Tank Movement, I guess as "hard" as you can get would be Putricide (reg or hard is not much different). Move out of puddles, pre-kite for gas bombs, move boss to green, chase around orange for cleave damage. It'd say it's the most movement intensive fight.
For Mechanics, I'd say the most difficult I've had to do was solo-tank adds on Anub 25 hardmode. Making sure they are all picked up, they all stay in front of you, they are all on the ice patches, and no one pulls agro; it's pretty hard.

any group that can't burn ahune in 1 submerge phase must have horrible dps. it has happened to me, but only in pugs with HORRIBLE dps.
on my priest i healed a DK "tank" with 20k hp. agro was all over the place, but phase 1 is pretty trivial to heal.
for fight mechanics:
*solo tanking firefighter (10 man) was quite challenging, especially phase 3.
*yogg+1 was also up there, mainly because any mistake pretty much meant someone would die.
for boss movement:
*i loved tanking malygos back in the naxx days - keeping her away from the orbs and stacking them perfectly on the raid (while holding aggro) is something i took pride in. no DK required!
*halion is also pretty fun to tank in the twilight phase, keeping him rotating with the beams properly.
short of LK, nothing in ICC is very challenging from a tank's point of view (i'm talking mechanics/movement, not survivability, btw).

Just got all loot I need from Ahune today. Tanking as level 78. If the group got brains that fight is no problem..
Can't say much about hardest boss(never raid tanked), but the hardest about any boss is to get your dps and healers to do what you say. Hardest boss are only as hard as the rest of your group/dps

Pretty sure it was Sindy and Yogg1. Both require top notch awareness, both rely a bit on RNG (Yogg1 P3, Sindy's frost debuff) LK wasn't really that hard, as long as we all "pulled the rope at the same time."
Tanking Yogg1 (non-Thorim) was hell to begin with, P1 and P2 sailed by easily, but the last phase turns it quickly into utter mayhem. Adds spawning, grab them, move, turn, do not face the boss, grab more adds, blow a cd, grab more adds, hold on for dear life and scream "pain suppression" on vent. hearing RL saying "Lay on hands incoming", pop a pot, use health stone, grab the new adds... and then suddenly it just stops? achievement earned, and i was just relieved. (been a while since i was there now, still dont feel too happy about going back, but there are others that still wants the mount, so its back to the HM's. (i still have firefighter and 1 more to complete it.)
Sindy is a bit different, as in no adds at all. But frost tombs, debuffs, tank swaps, Icy grip, blistering cold.. it gets hectic. and you just HAVE TO BE fully aware of where you are running, or you get to be an iceblock while you see the other tank die, and you KNOW that you could have saved him, and the entire raid.
Dunno how many tries we did, but it sure did take a few times, to say the least. but now, having "Kingslayer" after my name feels good, and started doing heroic mode, yeah its steady progress, one-shotted the first 3 in 10hc, and &*!@in up on saurfang because taunts doesnt hit fast enough -.- Yeah, Lil'Cleave can be a &*!@#. (First mark at 90% wtf?)
It all boils down to personal awareness, and ability to adapt to new (and challenging) content.
(Btw Halion went down, without DBM, fun fight, tho first night was learning, second night we one-shotted him, and as usual, craploot.)

The arena part of Thorim. So many adds, so many squishies (why all melee dps in gauntlet and ranged in arena? always did like that but i just dont get why...give me the dk and fury warr please...i dont wanna be stuck with 2mages and lock doing crazy aoe and dying just by mobs breathing in their general direction)

I never step foot into the gauntlet, always had to the arena part with a ret and some other melee's.
Havent tanked in a while, but just on top of my mind I always feelt ph1 of Yogg was a bit stressful until people actually learned to avoid the clouds, after that it was pretty much semi normal in difficulty. There really arent that many hard fights in normal content, HC is a bit different just by the shear amount of damage some bosses can pull out. Iron council hardmodes comes to mind, they are still pretty deadly if you mess up.

Algalon 25 as a Feral Druid in Ulduar gear. There was a reason Warrior/Paladin tanks were preferred for that fight.

LookOut
just remember to disable it during raids its super annoying then.
How is it annoying? Takes too much screen space or something? Cameramaxfactor = win.
The only time it is annoying in a raid imo is for feral kitty druids, since threat plates doesn't know the difference between feral tank and feral dps.

This topic made me facepalm three times, lol.
1.) Ahune the Hardest Boss. O_O Okay try to solo tank Thorims arena.
2.) Badaccus doing Yogg +1
without Thorim
. Omg talk about effectiveness. When you do it without Thorim, might as well do it +0. Freya is pathetic. The hardest thing about the fight is to do it without Thorim.
3.) "Thank god for healers that held me up on Ignis when i had 31k hp." Thats what almost everyone had, when progressing Ignis, dude.
Some bosses that are difficult to tank...
Well, firstly and most of all, i fricking hate Keleseth. That guy should die in a fire. Worst thing to tank ever.
Thorim arena is a perfect example of "i hate to pick up a billion adds that are capable of killing my squishy fellow raid members". Anyone who complains at any other boss where adds have to be picked up is bad and would utterly fail in Thorim arena. It was the test by fire.
Movement... definitely Halion > Putricide. Your hand is not about to die when you finish Putricide. It is after Halion.
Firefighter was very, very chaotic. Also extreme damage spikes at the beginning, and like a bajillion things that you had to dodge all the time. And adds on top.
Holding threat on Hodir and Vezax was actually very, very not fun. People getting insane damage buffz and us tanks with our common TPS, even scaled down on Vezax.
Solo tanking entire ToC 25 normal was very amusing.
That Malygos trick Marklartank mentioned above. You think you need a DK for Malygos? Nuh-uh. You need a tank that is worth his salt.
(captcha: Truth mountain. Ive been there.)
