I'd have more respect for Spears if she wasn't just a glorified back up dancer; most of her songs were written by others, most of the songs were heavily edited to make her sound better, and she hasn't sung live in years. And I'll stop now, as this could turn into a ran that would take up the entire 45 k word limit I have heh.

Heh, right, and I dislike her music and the singer as a personal opinion.

Laihendi
Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Rimsky-Korsakov, Stravinsky, Borodin, Mussorgsky, Glazunov, Myaskovsky, Dvorak, Smetana, Grieg, Berlioz, Dukas, Wagner, Liszt, Brahms, Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Mahler, Richard Strauss, Johann Strauss Jr. (unrelated to the other Strauss), Respighi, Vivaldi... these are all composers Laihendi can vouch for. They all have music worth listening to, and in many cases should be listened to.
Of course there are many others, but those are ones Laihendi is familiar enough with to feel comfortable recommending.

I've picked a few of my favorite songs that are also somewhat representative of my taste.
Eluveitie - Tegernakô
(Eluveitie is probably my favorite band at the moment. Folk/pagan Metal.)
Sirenia - Lithium and a Lover
(Gothic metal. From their second album. Their first two records are awesome, the others are
meh.
)
Sirenia - Sister Nightfall
(One of their signature songs. Most people recommend this as an introduction. Also, the picture on the video shows the wrong lineup.)
Flowing Tears - Orchidfire
(Sometimes I think I'm in love with their singer, Helen Vogt.)
Amorphis - The Smoke
(Amorphis is one of the few metal bands I listen to regularly that doesn't have a female vocalist.)
Tristania - Of Ruins and a Red Nightfall...
(Tristania
is
the gothic metal genre.)
Some easier listening:
Dropkick Murphys - (F)lannigan's Ball
(Love it!)
Flogging Molly - Drunken Lullabies
(More Irish)
And to wrap it up:
Hedningarna - Höglorfen
(Swedish folk fusion, this track is instrumental, I recommend it to
anyone
)
Like many people I've got Spotify playlists with my favorites from every band, so if anyone is interested...
