Does anyone know of any decent modern Thrash bands?
I grew up on Metallica, Anthrax, Megadeth, and Pantera (Dad, aunts, uncles were all metalheads)and then my tastes changed a little bit and I started liking alternative crap mostly out of boredom.
It has changed again and I'm finding myself listening to more metal and I wanted to see if there were any new bands to check out, or if Thrash has gone extinct aside from the local or garage bands that haven't made it yet, and probably won't given the state of music nowadays(There are TONS in Alaska and the only band to get anywhere was 36 Crazyfists)...
I've found Machine Head and Nile, both of which I'm enjoying.
I need more.

Not sure on whether or not some of these are modern, didn't look at the dates of their most recent work:
Kreator, Sodom, Aura Noir, Craft (not thrash, but good), Darkthrone (neither is this), Dark Angel, Detente (I know for a fact this one is older, but still good), Exhumer.
Those are a few for you.

More Better:
Frank Zappa
- Mixes psychedelia, jazz fusion, blues, rock, and many other genres to create something you've likely never heard before. He uses every instrument like a lead instrument. Recommended Albums:
We're Only in It for the Money
,
Hot Rats
,
Over-Nite Sensation
,
Apostrophe(')
Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
- Probably my favorite artist right now. Mixes blues, rock, jazz, and psychedelia. Also has a lot of avant-garde music. Recommended Albums:
Safe as Milk
,
Trout Mask Replica
,
Lick My Decals Off, Baby
,
The Spotlight Kid
,
Clear Spot
,
Shiny Beast
The 13th Floor Elevators
- Perhaps the very first psychedelic band, or one of the first at the very least. Recommended Albums:
The Psychedelic Sounds of the 13th Floor Elevators
,
Easter Everywhere
Mallard
- This is Captain Beefheart's Magic Band without the Captain himself. They grew apart after the release of the album
Unconditionally Guaranteed
and got a keyboardist and a new singer to form this band. Recommended Albums:
Mallard
The Allman Brothers Band
- Awesome mixture of blues, country, rock, and psychedelia. Duane Allman is one of the best guitarists of all time, and is possibly the best slide guitarist ever to work with this style of music. Recommended Albums:
The Allman Brothers Band
,
Eat a Peach
,
Brothers and Sisters

Thomas Bergersen - An excellent Norwegian composer mainly writing in the orchestra/trailer genre. He's better known for his 50% contribution to the music of Two Steps From Hell, but his solo album is fantastic too.
