Heading to the rules now, can't imagine what I did that commanded this kind of response.
You broke unspoken forum rules on your first post. Bad first impressions can mean a lot.
zdouse tends to speak his mind.
This
is the correct thread for introducing yourself.

What unspoken forum rules? I have read every rule and can not think of one thing he did wrong. Introduction of one self is a positive impression in my book.

Imagine if every poster on the forums did this. It'd be a pain to find the discussion threads or the folks looking for help since half the WoW General/Off-Topic page (at least) would be flooded with similar threads.

That you don't make threads about individual people, including yourself.
There's already a thread for "dropping by and saying hi."

Some of us are actually nice, some of the time. I'll even just tell you to proofread three or four times before calling you out on grammar/spelling mistakes. :)

Not really a rule, but point taken either way.
Well, seeing as it is enforced by the mods on a fairly regular basis (there have been exceptions), I'd call it a rule.
I'm not harping on you, but you asked why you got that reception.

Rules? We have rules? We abide by rules? Why didn't anyone tell of these "rules". For the love of God people. Stop leaving me out of the loop!
Oh, and even though it's in the wrong thread/forum. Welcome anyways man. I've actually got better information from these forums than I did on Blizzards official forums.

With the expected influx of people transferring from official to wowhead forums, can you imagine if every one of them posted new threads saying hi?
But anyway, welcome!

I can see your point Cambo, but in the majority of forums, it's considered SoP for the new members to open a new thread in the "Introduce yourself" category and kindly introduce yourself to the people you will be interacting with. Besides, there are far worse rules to be broken than that one. At least his intentions were good.

Read the god damn rules if your going to post here.
Next time take it to the recycle bin.
Also use spell checks I have no idea what awre means. Also use the future tense you only have one post.

I take it that you meant "you're". For all of the corrections that you issued a new poster, rudely, you failed at grammar and punctuation. Next time, how about learning the proper use of the English language before telling someone else what they need to correct. Lastly, lighten up, *!@#.

What
unspoken
forum rules?
^This. It's kinda hard for someone who's new to know unspoken rules (although unwritten might be a better word in this case).
