Uh...shouldn't your RL friends be convincing enough?

There is much less difference between Horde and Alliance than some posters seem to want you to think. I've had characters on both the Horde and Alliance side of my server (Earthen Ring) for years and have never noticed much in the way of more jerks or immature players on either side.
If you want to play with your friends then do so. Its the same game from either faction just with a slight cosmetic change.

Sorry but I don't see the need to convince anyone to roll Horde or Alliance; you either do it because you want to or you don't, that's not our purpose here.

If you want to save money:
Re roll a new toon as alliance. With full heirlooms and help from friends you should be able to do it in a few days just to 80, and at 80 your friend should boost you fast through dungeons and invite you to raids. Gear is not really allmighty important if you skilled on your area.
An example: I was doing an icc10 raid, and at that moment a priest in my guild logged on after being in active for months, he retired just before ulduar so he was wearing naxx gear. Due i know him well as a player i did invite him and he accepted. The other was not too happy but i insured them it would be fine. After having to deal with a fail retadin with high GS, it went otherwise fine(he was like 3.1k wowhereos, but did less dps than a tank on bosses, the 1k dude).
I replaced him after second boss due i had it with him, even after all people in grp explained to him how to do dps, with his gear if he followed rotations he should lie around 4k without troubles.
The point is, after we was done(stopped after festergut took too long with fail ret and almost wiping us), we had a look on the healing meters: The priest kicked both healer arses with 30% more effective heals or something.
In retro aspect i should mention he was out priest leader for a reason before he retired hehe.

I put it to you, Tubey, that you decided your conclusion first, and then subconsciously chose your observations to support that.
