nobody cares if you change the way you do things after having read this stuff, they only care about what other readers do based on what you've said.
carnaaj, what he probably means is that he, Asakawa, doesn't care about you, he only cares about people reading and following the unquestionably correct and objective advice presented in his warlock FAQ, which you apparently haven't.
Sorry. Had to.
P.S: Can we please get this thread locked?
Very unselfish and sympathetic. Unleashing a big text wall of nerdrage over someone and then immediately requesting a thread lock.

These builds have been out long enuff now,, there is no more theorycrafting to be done here.
Whats in the faq is solid and there is always simulation when you are not certain about something.
The guy came here wanting to give advice and quoting his own lock while being wrong about many things. (i mean, even after all this,, he still has a stamina enchant on legs and 3 points in fast summon) of course it wont break his dps, but it just shows he cant be trusted to give advise to someone looking to optimize.

Im not actually debating, which I think you know, whether the builds cited by (for example) asakawa are the most effective and successful for dps or not; they may be and quite likely are.
I'm only constantly in awe over the sages here who behave as if they can really judge and separate between elements in the game that are "obviously true" and those that are less obvious or even subjective. Well, most of all I'm annoyed by the self-important policework done around here. But maybe I should do like dat man Asa and stop being annoyed at pointless stuff. Ok.

have you read this thread?
go and read my first reply to carnaaj's first post. i'm not rude, self-important or even particularly blunt. i wrote in a fairly light-hearted way which maybe didn't come across because it wasn't well received. that's a shame.
the posts after that were mostly replying to attacks from carnaaj and/or explaining why i feel it's important to disseminate good info and refute bad info.
i also believe that there
are
choices in this game that are clear right and wrong choices and blizzard agrees with me which is one reason they're doing such a large scale overhaul of the talent system. they've said that they don't like that there are so many "trap" talents. awful ones that you can't really understand how poor they are from the tooltip or great one's that don't sound great unless you go and read someone's extensive theorycraft on the subject.
so carnaaj has advised people to use a destruction spec that puts three points into fast resummon. he has also admitted that his imp doesn't die much. this is surely, by anyone's definition, a bad choice and worth a rebuttal.
if you disagree that it's a bad choice then you should use this thread to discuss why. that's why we're all here right? to discuss these choices.
if you disagree that it's worth a rebuttal then that's fine but why post that?
this is now yet another thread where we're not talking about the choices in the game but talking about the discussion. it's boring and it serves no purpose.
you don't like me. i get that and i don't mind. since we've all accepted the state of affairs can we move on?

Hey Asa, I'm sure you must agree that meta discussion is unavoidable in a forum such as this. You're constantly doing it yourself, discussing the discussion and questioning the point. Just note your own second post in this thread.
As for your replies I never said they were rude or blunt. I'm sure you're a lovely guy, its just your wowhead persona that's annoying.

i know, my second post in this thread is exactly the kind of thing i'm talking about. pointless. boring. i get drawn into it and it's a source of endless annoyance to me.
since my "wowhead persona" is the only thing you have any access to, when i say "you don't like
me
" i'm talking about asakawa not the me that's typing using the pseudonym "asakawa". (is this not assumed in forums?).
if you find me/it annoying then, as i say, i'm fine with that. in fact i get a perverse enjoyment from people like you finding me annoying - it makes me feel like i'm doing something right.
i don't think there's much more to be said about any of that and any on-topic discussion has almost certainly been exhausted but, we'll see... i'm easily drawn into conversation, rising to trolls is probably one of my weakest weak points.

You seriously think I'm trolling here? If so, trolling has become such as wide concept that it has lost all its meaning.
Also, getting a perverse enjoyment from annoying "people like me?", seems more troll-like to me. Well at least ogre-ish. Aye, take care man, sure I'll see you soon.

i don't seek to annoy. the comments i make aren't made to annoy or offend.
i make logical, accurate, on-topic comments. you get annoyed. i smile.
