I don't think Blade Fury is an all-new spell, considering
WoW.com
(WoW Insider) regards the three Combat key perks as DWS, Vitality and Blade Flurry.
Blade Flurry
saw the brunt of the changes, with some pretty significant modifications. It used to be a single-target DPS increase via the 20% haste bonus, and then allowed us to cleave nearby targets to boot. Now, it actually
lowers our energy regeneration by 20% while active
, reducing our single-target damage but still maintaining the cleave effect. The plus side is that they
quartered the cooldown to a mere 30 seconds
. That means we can keep Blade Flurry up for
50% of a fight's duration
, which is simply amazing on any multi-target fight. Combat has truly become the cleave build for rogues, with massive multi-target potential. If mutilate's reliance on the Deadly Poison stack continues, combat will truly be unrivaled when it comes to target swaps.

Looking at it further, the biggest problem with the assassination tree is that to pick up all the DPS talents you need to spend 34 points. (
http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?rogue#wuAb1NF1
,,12479 ) which gives us only 7 'spare' points. With combat you only need to spend 31 on dps talents so get more choice on utility.
Heh. as mutilate there's no way to get 3/3 precision and 3/3 opportunity.

Does this mean that Blade Flurry will be less attractive for spank&tank fights? Since you lose 20% energy regen and dont benefit from the cleave ability.

Playing around with this at first blush it looks like I'm going to be using a 9/31/1 combat build.
Oh great.

assassination pvp build would be alot weaker without the subtlety counterpart. Might aswell be combat for pvp. Killing Spree = free kills :P (again it might be too early to worry about it since its the first release of new talent build.)
And you would be correct.

The only thing blizzard can achieve by nerfing talent trees is creating a whole lot of identical classes, this means that the colorful variety of different trees gonna vanish. In addition by taking away personal choices in building talent trees the lack of ecxitement, which will occur obviously, shall prove itself a great loss.

They're giving people MORE choice. They're taking away mandatory talents. At the moment 99% all raiding rogues use either the cookie cutter mutilate or combat spec. Nothing else! Cata should fix this (in theory) by forcing people to choose between different utility talents.

Have you even looked at the tress? Guess not. There's less utility and choices than the current talent trees.
1 word: beta.
also Blizz said that some of the trees are in need of a big rework, one of them is assasination.
let's wait till it goes live.

let's wait till it goes live. While this is correct, 31 pointers will still offer less choices, there's no question about that unless they fill in with more talents on the different tiers. So it's pretty safe to say that whatever the hell they do, 31 pointers will provide close to no personal thoughts and you're basically forced taking stupid talents and 99% of all WoW players will have the exact same spec, with NO CHOICES. Cool eh?
Quite honestly, if that blackjack crap goes live, I'm guaranteed 2k rating on my PvE geared rogue, it will obviously be too strong in 2's. Especially against 2 dps teams.
Are you from the future?
If yes, does microsoft rule the world?
If no, stop nerdraging.

I've done some sample specs. for my rogue and paladin and over all I'm pretty pleased with the new talent make over.
I am pretty enthralled their is a lot of passive abilities now.
Retribution will be OP.
Rogues will be freaking ridiculous with Focused Attack talent never mind Vendetta.
I'm pleased. ^.^
