Now that beta is coming to an end and there has been plenty of time to actually play (and sort out the various QQ from reality) how are Prot Paladins looking for solo? I was reading that your much better off going as Ret now, and that would kinda put a damper on the whole thing for me considering I've always played as Prot.
Well, there's nothing questwise that any class is unable to solo (they scrapped groupquests in the new areas at least... there are some pretty difficult elite quests but def. soloable) except maybe if you're healing specced.
I think soloing old instances will be similar to as it is now... Prot should beat ret, or at least be close.
That's good to hear, I was worried my favorite spec was being pushed aside. As far as soloing old instances go though, do you think Prot Pallies will still be up there as a contender for being best at it? I tend to have my main solo toon do a ton of guild runs to help out our lowbies, so it never hurts to make sure in advance.
I still wake up screaming at night from the nightmares of running Sunken Temple four times in a row to try and get some random drop for a guildie T_T
prot paladins and blood death knights are THE best for soloing stuff in cataclysm.
granted that Warriors and bear druids can too, but to a less efficient degree.
because while warriors have heals, they have long CD's, aren't really spammable, and while druids can heal up, it means going out of bear form to heal, and thus taking HEAVY damage wich often could be fatal.
Prot pallys have a constant healing due to the seal of insight, and spammable heals in the form of word of glory, emergency heals such as lay on hands, and standard healing spells (flash of light holy light divine light and the new AOE one) wich can be used without losing valuable armor or HP.
Dk's have a truckload of healing tools at their disposal, not only Death Strike wich heals for godly amounts, Rune tap, blood pact, vamp blood, blood worms, and if you spec for it, Lichborn. Most of these spammable (the worms are up at all times, and DS is indeed spammable)

how many hours did you spend doing all the questing in Hyjal?
How much exp did you gain?
Should people do both starting zones?
Do you feel the mobs are ok for people with only blues in wotlk to progress and have fun?
I ask because my new lock will probably make 80 just before release and I want to start cata with him.
I was reading a post on cata form here and they said that the mobs tough and that you do get some good gear.
But at the same time they were talking about their ICC gear and didn't need it. So I am kinda worried if an ICC geared player says they are tough what about the undergeared?

Can't say anything about how much time it took since I did Hyjal so long ago, and the zone has been nerfed and xp gain has been boosted since then.
By completing Hyjal (or Vashj'ir) you'll be 82 and ready for Deepholm, except maybe if you skip too many mobs.
I don't think starting out with quest gear will be any problem at all since (at least the first part of) Hyjal and Vashj'ir are far easier than the later zones, and you'll get some incredible quest rewards along the way so you'll be ready once you hit the significantly harder Deepholm.

thank you for the reply Garenzo.
do you see someone doing either starting zone is say 12 hours of playtime?
I think someone told me that to get a set of blues on quest you have to do both starting areas.
Other than the questing blues the other quest rewards are the same in both areas.
ps no blue questing weapons until the next level area

what can we buy with all the justice points earned during wrath of the lich king? is it worth to keep them to buy 85 items ? what can we first buy when we hit 85?
same question with honor points
I'm not sure about honor points, but there is a list of everything that you can buy with Justice points here:

How well does each class perform in PvP? (preferably from the Arena perspective)

I just started doing the daily quests for the Venomhide Ravasaur, and there isn't enough time to finish it before Cataclysm. Can anyone confirm that this mount will still be obtainable? Thanks.
Yes it will be, same as the Winterspring Saber; think about it, they told us that the ZG mounts were gone, if the same thing was happening to Venomhide and Wintersabers, they would have told us that as well by now.

I checked back about ~10 Pages and didn't see this answered so I figure I'll ask.
How long does it take to level from 80-85 (hours) on the beta currently? I've heard vastly different numbers.
My plan is to go Hyjal > Deepholm > Uldum > Twilight Highlands
Deepholm is marked as 82-83 and Uldum as 84-85, Will I be high enough level to do Uldum if I don't do both starting zones?

Afraid I don't remember the time it took for me but the numbers have changed a lot and even though they're high, it doesn't really take too long.
Your leveling plan will do fine, Uldum is 83-84 and is the logical step after Deepholm.

on mmo champion most players said it took them on average 15hours, some guys did it in 10hours other in 25hours. depends on how fast you play (if you pay attention to the lore or not)
10-15 hours is incredibly disappointing. That's not even enough time to need caffeine to stay up. :(

Question: Is it true that in order to fly in one of the new Azerothian zones, you need to complete a 'breadcrumb' quest chain to get that access? If that's correct, is there a list of those zone-introduction quests somewhere?
Don't think so.
