Actually, I think they create a group that overall has the gear needed.
If that is the case, then you (25HC geared) will probably be teamed up OFTEN with lesser geared people to compensate for their lesser gear. I suggest you get back to running with guildies again.
Edit: (peopel = people)

Just wear half DPS gear, do 5k+ by yourself, and pretend the other DPS don't exist. It's by far the best method.

It's worse when you're an ICC10/25 geared DPS.
Whenever Misdirect or Tricks is down, I have to auto attack. And on AE pulls..? My finger is hovered over my Feign Death and Vanish button.
^This
nothing worse than having a fresh 80 tank

Oh no! You mean you actually have to watch agro instead of mindlessly spamming aoe? My god, what is this world coming to.
/sarcasm offWho watches aggro? Anyone in H ICC gear can tank anything they pull off the tank. I just DPS normally, if it hits me then I'll just get healed.

Translation: I can't play my class, but my gear can.
To the O.P.: I have found the very same thing you have experienced. Along with the overgeared tank who pulls too much, and then finds that the fresh 80 healer can't keep up.
I am of the opinion that Heroics should be practice for Raids. Tanks should make good secure pulls. Healers should stay at range and heal the whole group. DPS should get in the proper placement and follow kill orders.
I've been in PuG raids where the players think it is a Heroic. They wander around, stand in front of MoB's, casters casting while standing in the Hit Box, etc. "Overgeared" is becoming a disease.

LFD groups more geared people with less geared people in the hopes that you'll help them improve and carry them to better gear.

Hey, have some sympathy for the devil. I've pulled massive numbers of heroic mobs with unfortunate KM procs. Spread diseases, hit oblit, Rime procs, I hit HB just as KM comes up, and pull everything. ;_;
Of course, as well-geared plate DPS we can pull one or two mobs without a worry, really. The tanks might yell at you though. As a DK in heroics, though, if I hold back on damage by the time I've spread my diseases everything's dead. Sometimes my disease target dies before I've even applied FF/BP. That makes me quite sad indeed.

I agree, just DPS normally and if you aggro, well then you aggro. Nothing terrible is going to happen, you'll just take some damage. It matters in raids, not in heroics, and anyways in a raid it's very rare for anyone to pull aggro from the tank. Threat is a non-issue in WotLK, I doubt most DPS even need omen anymore.
In practice this is largely the case, nothing horrid is going to happen. But you seem to be missing two important points.
A) If a single player dies during the run its no longer a "speed" run. Every time the group has to stop and wait for a rez or for someone to run back in its wasted time in the form of either standing still till its done or in lost DPS while someone runs back in.
And B) every time you pull aggro and take damage you are putting more work on the healer. Maybe your healer is plenty geared and this is no problem, but he probably doesn't want to be on his toes like he does in a raid during what should be a much more relaxed experience. You are quite simply saying, 'Ill do what I want, and someone else will pick up the slack for me because they aren't worth of consideration!'
The same goes to some degree for your tank as well, if he is having to reposition to taunt or try to regather mobs he is no longer putting out his optimal rotation which causes more threat problems and the issue is compounded.
Im not going to tell you to do differently than you are (you wouldnt likely listen to me anyhow), but before you think its a victim-less crime think a bit deeper about how you are effecting the others in your group.
