So, was just trolling the forums and ran across this thread.
First I just want to let yall know that enhancement is my offspec, and I'm not that great at it. Most of my gear is just trash drops that noone else wanted from my heroic ICC groups.
My armory is
RikkitikiSo, last night I got the
Scourgebane Waraxe from the lootship. I noticed a rather substantial increase in dps from my old set of weapons (
Pugius MH /
Frost Giant's OH going to
Frost Giant's MH /
Scourgebane Waraxe OHI know that my gear is not perfectly itemized for Enhance shamans, way too much arm pen and such, but for the most part I was stuck around 12k dps on Saurfang, when I changed to the fast OH last night I did 14k dps. The only environmental change was the ICC buff went from 25% to 30%, but that is not quite enough to make that jump.
I use WF on the MH and FT on the OH. I know I haven't run any tests or have recount numbers to show, but I was just posting my experience with using a fast OH that has a bit more DPS (34 more dps than Pugius) and the final numbers for 2 similar fights.
Anyone else have similar results when they used a fast OH just to see?
No. The ICC buff increased 5%--5% of 10k is 500 dps right there. You also compared just one fight, which is what, about 5min? You need more data than just one 5 min fight.
I ran myself through
enhsim and switched my
264 slow offhand with the
277 fast offhand. I went from 11,791 dps to 11,620, a loss of 170 dps, or 221 with the ICC buff.
I ran you through it as well. Using your old setup, the simulator cranked out 10,517 dps. Your new setup pulled 10,413, a loss of 104 dps, or 135 dps with the ICC buff.
This is with a 7 min fight, simulated out to 10,000 hours to remove any inconsistencies. You have a lot of variables that vary from fight to fight, like buffs/debuffs, latency, and your framerate. I've already explained in great detail why Slow/Fast is bad. Our mechanics are built to support using two slow weapons. Will using a fast offhand destroy your dps? No. Is it better than using a
similar slow weapon (within 30 ilvls)? Absolutely not.
