It is the vendored price of an Item, i.e. what you would get if you sold the item not what you would pay. "As this example is a Tier piece which cannot be vendored it only costs 1 gold while any other pieces will cost their vendor price."
i only have one question about this if i don't upgrade my account for the new expansion (i am ofc) will i still be able to do this or will it not work
It is excellent to see Mastery as one of the choices. I can see updating all of my tier gear day one with Mastery so that there isn't a need to pickup greens. This way I can focus on leveling and wait until 85 to worry about gear.
I think it shouldn't be so incremental as to be chunks of stats and then not even allow us to raise pre-existing ones. If I have spell hit on an item and I dont need it, why can't I switch all of my hit rtg for crit or haste? That makes sense? Sure perhaps 50 points in hit would translate to perhaps 36 or so haste or crit, but it'd still come out the same as far as item level budget, right? (I realize the math's probably way off)I mean a flat 40% for an equal ammoutn of another stat that is NOT already on the item is silly seeing that spirit is not even a factor for casters now. What the hell would you do with any stat other than transfer it into mastery rating? There's practically no other application if your item$$ to be reforged already has haste, crit, int and stam already. Am I right?
Of course this is going to be changed. For 3 reasons1) Now every weapon is truely a hunter weapon :-) So (if not already in place) is going to limit the from X to Y stats. So no getting a spellpower item and reforcing it to agility e.g. Else it is going to be everybody rolling on all items.2) Sofar, always certain stats have been better than others for any class. And this won't change. The game is way to complex for that. So everybody is just going to reforge anything - except perhaps untill certain relevant caps (like hit cap, haste cap if applicable for a class, etc) - into whatever is best. So screw AP, all to strength, all to aggility, etc. People will min-max and go with that. So there are going to be limitations on conversions.3) And the gold costs are waaaay to cheap. People complaining about gold, don't seem to realise that reforging is in this case is cheaper than e.g. enchanting or gemming. Reforging a weapon for the cost of the item itself is super cheap. And a tier item for 1g is ridiculous. So unless it gets nerfed, it is going to have to be so much more expensive. Perhaps also an increasing cost like talent relearning has?
@MarkusF: It only works with the green stats. (and possibly spirit I guess) Since AP is getting scrapped (agi = AP pretty much the way str works) and spellpower is being merged with int you won't be able to completely change a weapon, just say, hit into mastery or crit if you're hit capped already.
Hey Fewyn could you please add a FAQ section for this topic? Just by the sheer number of people that are having issues understanding the limitations of the system >_>Although i have a few questions that hopefully someone can answer. sorry if these have been answered x.x i skipped a few pages of post cause some of the comments were naive and ignorant. 1. Can you reforge more then 1 stat on an item? For example if you have +dodge and +parry on the item. Can i reforge 40% of the dodge to hit and 40% of the parry to mastery?2. Is there a maximum number of equipment you can have on that's reforged?3. Can you reforge any piece of equipment? more specifically can weapons, cloaks, and rings be reforged? I think for the time being i'll wait to decide whether or not i like or dislike reforging. I can see many possiblities and many side-effects. For retarded people that don't understand the mechanics of it. This could establish a whole new breed of Ninja's and Greedy players. This will also create a whole new level of min/maxing and siming for the best possible DPS. Imagine trying to come up with a BiS list now? x.x Also, it'll make creating specific sets of gear much easier. like tanks wanting a set with more avoidance on it or maybe try to stack mastery as much as possible. If left in it's current form this could be interesting. I like that it's 40% and not 50% or higher. Having to keep 60% of the unwanted stat is a decent penalty.
I'll toss up a screenie of the reforging interface... Here you go.As you can see it's 1 point for 1 point at the moment, no 40% reduction or anything like that. :-)And yes, it seems you can reforge all of your items rather than just one. Seems you can't change it into a stat that is already on the item though, or at least not mastery.
