Also, I wonder how they're going to pick out the 10 best a day out of probably millions of entries....maybe a random pick out of entries that are actually Haikus?
This post was from a user who has deleted their account.
I'm going to be entering...probably a bunch, I love Senryu (btw Senryu/Haiku both refer to the singular and plural, there are no plural nouns in Japanese) And I Always love Noxy's work...But Alex's Kimono while amazing, is backwards...indicating that she'd dead...:P should be left over right. But I'm still making an avatar of it :)Zen (who knows just enough Japanese to get her in trouble)
Just a quick question: Where will the topic be posted, or where can I find it if it has been posted already? At least, right now I can't seem to find it yet...
They've already said that the post will come up at noon PST each weekday, that'll be in around 7 hours 25 minutes, depending a bit on where they are. :)
No...it's not. -clysm is a single syllable...according to current modern english dictionaries. I'm not going to get into a debate on it, but the facts are there with proof I'm afraid.I was merely offering advice for people who find getting the syllables in words correct, not out to have an argument over it.
Yup. Didn't write the language, just use it, heh...even if sometimes it doesn't make complete sense.I would however like to know if for this contest it's being considered a 3 syllable word or 4, regardless of the obvious fact that it's 3 but many thinking it's 4.
Syllables are about sounding out the word, not letters. Cataclysm - Lets break it down: Ca=1 Ta=2 Cli=3 Zum=4 ca ta cli zum ...cataclysm. Very good boys n girls. Put it as 3 if you want to though, by all means. More chances to win for meh. :3Edit: Not that Im using cataclysm in my haikus anyway...
Where to vote haikus?
