I liked the last one, as I do that on every character.
However, it won't get my vote, as, at least the way I pronounce it, Acquire has three syllables, which makes the first sentence 6 syllables, instead of 5.
Two syllables acording to howmanysyllables.com which seems to be highly regarded here.
Not too late to change your vote.

To be honest, I'm kinda annoyed that out of the tons of submissions that were in, you picked one that absolutely did not follow a haiku pattern (number 8). It's 4/7/6, unless you're extremely liberal with the pronunciations (stretching "learned" to 2 syllables and shortening "aren't" to 1 syllable). Understandable, but not when this entry made it in over the hundreds of submissions that actually followed the basic rules.
To be honest, I'm kinda annoyed that you come to this website out of nowhere and criticize the staff (who are providing you a service for free) about spending their time counting syllables instead of keeping the bulk of the site (the database of WoW knowledge) running. Unless you're extremely entitled, you shouldn't feel that this contest owes you anything, even a list of "proper" haikus to read each day. Understandable, but not when there are thousands more users to serve who will actually stick around after the contest is ended and keep looking at ads (or subscribing to the site) that aren't as pedantic and prone to complain.
I never said that I was entitled to my haiku being up there. It wasn't chosen, and that's fine. But I at least think that the chosen haikus should fit the given rule. Perhaps you can accept poetic license for learned as pronounced as "learn-ed", but it's a huge stretch to turn "aren't" into "arnt", and with a huge selection of available haikus, you'd think that ones that require huge amounts of leniency and poetic license to fit the basic format just wouldn't be chosen. It's fine for a regular haiku, but for a contest, they really should fit the basic rules that were outlined.

Apparently the judges think it's fine, else it wouldn't be there.

Voted for the Alterac Swiss one because i think it deserves to be in third place (behind the warrior rage and steamy romance ones), and yet it's currently last.

I honestly think that users are just shocked at the choices picked for the haikus because WoWhead, at least for the 3+ years i've used it, they have been very professional with every aspect, keeping it up to date, insight into new content, and providing contests which in the past have been done very well, whereas this 1 has contained MANY complaints as far as quality and legitimacy of the haikus chosen. I don't think its that people expect to be chosen, rather the fact that people expect quality and fairness from the quality site that WoWhead is.
If you read these comments WoWhead staff, I just hope that summer hasn't had it's impact on you for these (dare i say) poor choices, especially during this dire time where people are hoping for beta keys to prepare for/experience cata lol.

Bull &*!@.
If you're going to complain about how these haikus suck, you need to be ready to post your own god damn amazing haiku. Otherwise you have no idea what kind of haikus are being sent in, and whether or not they fit format/are appropriate/don't suck according to the choosers.
These people are just mad because wowhead's authors don't share their tastes.
I'm not saying there aren't people who expect to be chosen, but that isn't the case for every person who entered/complained. I think that the people are complaining/think they should be in it because of the poor choices (the incorrect format ones or the one stolen straight from a site) and it's there that they are justified. They aren't necessarily saying that theirs should be picked ahead of everyone else's, just above the ones that don't fit the criteria. And no i'm no different from anyone else, I think my haikus were pretty damn good/clever and should have been chosen ahead of those that don't fit the criteria, its just how it's being done this contest.
