Actually, according to dictionary, "Learned" can have either 1 syllable, or 2 syllables.
Not in the context that it was used. "Learned" as two syllables is an adjective, like "He was a learned (learn-ed) man". You don't say "I learn-ed something new today".

As has already been said. The number of syllables in "learned" depends on the context of the word. And in this context it is 1 syllable making it not a haiku.
"Aren't" is 1 or 2 in any situation, people complaining about it are silly.

Damn people registering to Wowhead just because they heard about this contest.
And to people saying yours are better, of course you think they are. You made them. I think mine are better. :P
That's probably the point, though. For the price of 50 Beta keys, they get hundreds of people creating accounts here. Even if a fraction of the people decide to stick around after the contest to post (like me), then it's a success.
Very clever, wowhead.

Lightning and thunder / Heed my calls and strike my foes! / Yes... In the mountains.
Much like the implausibility of using fire spells under water, this haiku raises the question of the likelihood of having lightning and thunder for a Shaman to call upon while in non-stormy locations.Actually to me this seems to be a direct reference to a quote from Thorim (Lord of
Thunder
) when encountered in Ulduar, "Wait--you... I remember you... In the mountains...", which appears to have become a bit of a meme around the interwebs.
In Alterac Swiss / Exists the cheese of two worlds / Or, Switzerland moved (Akuow)
And why is this one least popular? It's very witty, in my opinion. Do you all disagree or is it that most people do not understand it?

I cannot see the thread at all :( Below is my error report. Maybe an IE thing?
Webpage error details
User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible;
MSIE
8.0; Windows NT 6.0; WOW64; Trident/4.0; SLCC1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; Media Center PC 5.0; OfficeLiveConnector.1.3; OfficeLivePatch.0.0; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729)
bold part is your problem, try an alternative browser such as Google Chrome or Firefox, switching browsers even lowers your chance of getting infected by a virus (activeX is really nasty for that sorta thing)

I thought it was very witty. I just liked the "not standing in fire" one better. It also doesn't apply to WoW that much, only referencing an obscure food item. Very clever, but not my favorite on the list.
