Oh my goodness, this sure made my day. Can't believe one of mine made it. It was written days ago as well so your haikus really can be picked at anytime.
Good luck everyone, and thanks Wowhead for having the contest.

If that's true then they most likely are picked at random... and then the staff gets rid of unfit ones and then selects more at random until all the spots are full.
Is this correct?

ok i would just like to post something on here, day four showed that some of us wow players dont know what a syllable is! syllable dones not = a word! here are some examples of words with several syllables: mock-ing-bird= 3 syllables war-lock= 2 syllables boy= 1 syllable wow-head= 2 syllables war-craft= 2 syllables i hope this tutorial taught u SOMETHING u missed out in grade school, so stop complaining saying that wowhead cant count when u dont even know what you are talking about plz
heck, and here is a legit definition for u: A syllable is a basic unit of written and spoken language. It is a unit consisting of uninterrupted sound that can be used to make up words.

Yet another sentences with slashes in it. And the plural of haiku is haiku.
If a sentence is 17 syllables, and has no words that would otherwise be split by a slash, why can't it be the English equivalent of a haiku? I mean, the meter fits. Is there a huge difference if it's one sentence or two? or three? We're already trying to squeeze a phonological language into a structure borrowed from a morphological one. Why do so many people feel such a seething rage against this attempt at poetry? And why do the same people keep posting the same complaint about it multiple times in the same thread, on back-to-back days?
Cheat sheet naow, plox.

I've detected a pattern here, all of the haikus displayed so far, seem to be related to jokes, or memes, they all have a punchline, and are meant to be funny (not all are).
if only the joke-related ones get chosen I'm afraid none of mine will win U_U all of mine are related to lore, serious and not for laughs.
small example "Crown of the heavens / ohh Nordrassil we need you / Return to us please"
or "Lok'tar Ogar orc / Glory to the horde we bring / With Strenght and Honor"
all the ones that have been chosen seem to fit into the category of humor, to wich none of my submisions is related........
also, major fail on my part :S I tought we would vote every day for the next 2 weeks (14 days total, 70 keys total) but aparently I misstranslated what "weekday" means, in reality we're only voting 10 days total, for 50 keys total =/
so........... 5 more days to go, 25 keys left.......
Choose some lore-related haikus next week please =( my sence of humor isn't big enough to make a funny joke that could posibly win.
I'd honestly vote for a lore related haiku over a joke haiku any day.
Agree^

I'm sorry but this explanation is just absurd. What does something do when producing bubbles? Bubble-ing. Which in ENGLISH we have, over hundreds of years perhaps, FORMALLY reduced to the word bubbling, which the author of the haiku actually WROTE and which DOES consist of 2 syllables. He didn't use a slang word, or a made up WoW word, he used a real English word to describe the bringing into being of a bubble. Bubbling. 2 syllables. I don't particularly care if his entry get invalidated or not, but I refuse to sit idly by and watch people create ridiculous excuses for the slaughtering of a perfectly good and appropriate linguistic usage.
You remind me of TotalBiscuit, just saying.
Bubbling is 2 syllables, the paladin is producing a bubble, same definition. Stop being butthurt over it, it is clearly 2 syllables.
MY HAIKU WAS CHOOSEN!
I know its not the best but PLEASE Help me get top 5!
To kill Paladins: / Scare them into bubbling/ Then, run to the inn. (monamourswow)
Please vote for me!
Sorry, no. I'm not going to vote for you because your entry is actually invalid (yours is 5/6/5, a haiku is 5/7/5).

You don't need to reenter I think. All of your haiku should still be floating around wherever they're sent to.
(Edit): What happens if 2 or more people tie?
"One entry will get you into every drawing thereafter."
If I am interpreting this correctly, you are right. It sounds like one submission bin for the entire contest instead of on submission bin for each day. Is this correct moderators?

...can you guys just get
over
it already? Bub-bling. Bub-ble-ing. Whoop dee doo. I think it's fine. For all the Pallys out there, be honest - I mean, really, be honest - do you say the former or the latter? I'll bet you there's a whole lot of folks who say the three syllable version over the the two (myself included!) and will debate this till the cows come home - it's an accepted form of vernacular, so deal.
Can we just agree to disagree? It's getting to be that this is slowly deteriorating into a "QQ, myne waznt chosn so Imma put the stank on sum1 who wuz." And do ya'll wanna be that person? It's day freakin 5. Less QQ, more Haiku.
