Sorry I haven't been on.
The money that is put in to the bank is used to buy people ICC crafted epics.
We do not use that rule for trinkets as people may have Darkmoon Card (Like myself) and therefor win even though Darkmoon card may be better.
If you don't normally use it for trinkets and made an exception for this one, I can sort of see why they got pissed off.

A terrible rule and the mage didn't even follow the rule. I don't see this guild going very far for very long. Those two were right to gquit.
Knowing this secondary piece of information - that 'buying' gear does not normally apply to trinkets - I would likely have been very upset as well.

If you have that rule, and they knew about it beforehand, then they're idiots for ragequitting.
I agree but people in this game tend not to listen to people :/ They try playing by their own rules and then *!@#$ about it later when they dont get their way.

Also, distribute gear to the highest rank/gearscore guild member, period.
Maybe I'm missing something, but this sounds like a horrible idea.
Great idea.
Since you posted directly after my post stating that it was a good idea, I'm not sure if I conveyed the idea of sarcasm. Extreme. Sarcasm. Anyhow, back to the thread!

Maybe I'm missing something, but this sounds like a horrible idea. If the guild leader happened to have the highest gear score when ICC was released, then other raiders who would share gear with the guild leader's character should just plan on not getting any upgrades until the guild leader is decked-out?
That rule is probably not only stopping a number of loot ninjas from joining, but also a number of raiders who actually want a chance to get gear...
This rule is simple and clean. Does is it work for every type guild...nope. If maintaining stats on runs or loot councils or the myriad other ways to distribute loot work for you..great.
As for the GM..let me speak as one...The gm is the guy who sets the raids..maintains the guild harmony...manages the runs..recruits for disappearing members(for one reason or another), the guy who pretty much puts everything on a silver platter for his members so all they have to do is check their calendar and log on for the raid and yet the GM is not suppose to be #1 on the loot list if he is also the highest geared? O.o
The boss of any company makes the most money..his employees know that..as long as he takes care of them they accept it or go work someplace else or start their own company. A raiding guild is of the same fashion. A good GM will take care of his officers if they help out running the guild...even at his own expense, gear wise. I've had players with me for over 2 years...it can't be that horrible.
ps. People who want to join my guild strictly for gear are loot ninjas as far as I'm concerned.
As a GM, the guild has priority over individual players. I'm looking for longevity out of my members. As long as I can provide constant progression and groups to run in and quality of guild socializing...the rank/gearscore loot system works fairly well.
