our threat is no longer gained by static threat augmented talents. its all dmg now for the most part.
Well it was already based fairly heavily on damage before the patch, the patch just moved it forward another step or two. There's still innate threat on several abilities though, look at the numbers Porcell produced in a recent thread.

the only good PUG i had was when we were all kingslayers... mob dead in 5 secs...
hell now even chillmaw is dead within 20secs to us fury warriors...
giving the WARRIOR tank (or bear tank) the courtesy few seconds head start has always been part of how i roll as dps fury... we have to wait for them tanks to build up RAGE... now if you go in and aggro right off the bat, tank will be rage starved which ain't good...
it is quite hard for a warrior tank to hold on to anything if you don't have the rage to strut and flex your abilities... you may taunt once (or twice if you have vigilance on aggroing dps guy)
so if you're not wearing plate armor, and not in the 25k hp and above range, be smart and don't pull aggro from your warrior/bear tank...
You have to play smarter and improvise, as well as using your abilities to do MORE than you thought you could. You have intervene, intercept, and charge at your disposal. Shockwave, Concussion Blow, a ranged silence/interrupt, taunting, AoE DoTs, basic AoE threat generators, abilities like Demo Shout, line of sight, kiting, general character mobility, profession perks, items, spell reflect, a second melee range interrupt, the ability to deal huge Cleave damage and thus threat, and straight up DPS to kill targets at your fingertips.
i highly doubt that you'd remember to use most of your abilities within 5 secs when the dps aggros all your mobs separately on their own corners... =)
you can play smarter and improvise, yes true, but with most dps buffed up (except for poor huntards)...
so i always say to my dps, give me my 5 secs or wait till you see my thunderclap before you go dps crazy, has always worked 4/5 of my PUG when i tank...

In every single dungeon I ran, there was always that one dps that wouldn't wait half a second.
send him/her home with a repair bill, or maybe he/she will just drop after a couple deaths. if they want to pull so badly, let them. be ready to pickup the mobs when they go for the healer next (unless your healer is really good and knows not to bother try to heal your "5man offtank")
it sounds like you are doing the right things. maybe the problem isn't you.
Exactly. If I get a DPS who cant wait for me to gain proper agro I tell them and the whole group "I have a strict "You spank it you tank it" policy. So if you cant wait for me to gain agro enjoy your repair bills!"
Sometimes they are in a full on raid frame of mind even when in simpler dungeons and you got to break them of that.

Ok...something is really strange here. Last night I did a couple more heroics. It was like before 4.0...easy! I figured it was because everyone was way lower geared than I am. This evening I tried it again. It's still easy...I don't know what is going on. I did everything the exact same as always and I never lose aggro. Even against well geared dps. Was there a patch yesterday that I missed that made it easier to hold aggro? I don't understand...although, I don't mind. Thank you all for adding your advice.
I don't think so... last week I accidentally queued for a random heroic instead of a random normal (as the LFD defaults on me for some reason, and I don't notice until later), and I got put into Heroic Forge of Souls in my barely scraping ilvl 200 gear.
DPS: "Wow, a tank with less than 30k HP."
Me: "Yeah, didn't expect to get FoS on the random... I'm fairly certain I should leave and let you get a properly geared tank."
Other DPS: "No, don't go... I think we should be able to handle it."
Healer: "Yeah, stay and finish this with us!"
After this, I noticed they were all guildies from a different server, and I just shrugged and manned up. I really wish I could remember their guild name, because after we finished FoS (and I suddenly realized "Holy crap, this is heroic?"), we went on to do a handful of other randoms until we were all in need of a break. They were awesome, and while I have no doubts that they were carrying me through the instances, it went just as fast as when I roll through as DPS on my Shaman/Druid.
The entire time I had no problems with agro (though the multiple caster pulls in FoS were pretty sloppy), and all I can chalk it up to is a group who isn't wearing MAX DPS blinders, and is instead interested in finishing the instance fast and still alive.

good for you bro.
yep, FoS caster pulling can really be tricky... shield bash one, heroic throw the other.... sometimes heroic throw don't silence.... for me, if i have a dk in group, i have him chain pull the farthest caster then thunderclap...
nipah & drewbob: btw, did said group/s give you proper time to get rage and aggro? were they playing SMART dps?
it really is back to BC days, the veteran tanks and our GM keeps reminding us dps to play safe and let the tank get proper aggro....
