And the Draenei met the Night Elves first... so yeah. And at the time, no; if you were big and green, you were an enemy of Stormwind.
Exactly. The Night Elves are largely xenophobic and knew exactly what an Eredar looks like, to the point of mixing them with the Draenei - whose manners prevented things getting bad.
If the human King could trust Garona while the orcish horde rampaged through Stormwind, I think he can trust a bunch of orcs who come in peace before the war started.Except the War had already started; Llane only trusted Garona because of Medivh. All other orcs were seen as 'kill on sight' as they had done nothing but attack, attack, attack, attack since leaving the Black Morass. Had the Frostwolves gone to the King, they probably would have been killed out of hand just for being, again, big and green.
And yes, but I was making a crude joke about how the Night Elf xenophobia vanished in BC.

Not just by looking at them but because they came pillaging and killing.I think if Durotan had been slightly less of a lawful personality—and had been one step ahead of Blackhand—the "fiends from hell" perception probably wouldn't have existed. But...yeah, we're just speculating here.

I often think of orcs like I do mutants from x-men. There a different race of people living on a world that hates and fears them, the hate and fear coming from humans mostly.
There are good, noble mutants like there are good noble orcs, but there are bad mutants to, like magneto and his followers, like the blackrock orcs and many rough elements within the orcish culture, and of course good mutants like xaviers x-men and other groups.
atm, seems many orcs are coming over to the magneto way of thinking.
(btw I'm not wanting to compare Garrosh to magneto, him being smarter and a far, far, FAR better development as a character).

Uh, no. You're far off the mark on this one, if only because I don't recall a group of orcs starting an academy as well as dressing in tights to protect humans from the rest of their ilk.
Do you read when I say 'remind's me of' or just scroll over that? Seriously, its called comparison.

Can't compare it though; the Demon Horde had no 'good' clans, as they were all infected. It wasn't like there was a 'good' Horde fighting with Azeroth/Stormwind against the Demon Horde which was the entire point of the First War.
Yes, later, there was a redemption, but even then, in the over all things of the Wars, the 'good' Horde did not face off against the 'evil' ones; Arthas and Lordaeron crushed the Blackrock/Cult orcs, not Thrall and his people after all. It's not till WoW that the good Orcs start off against the Bad; and even then, most of the time it's both factions wiping out the Fel Orcs or other evil orcs; X-Men was pretty much Mutant vs Mutant with random humans attacking.

I see them more as the Covenant myself.

Not the old horde obviously, since we know what drove them to attack Azeroth. But given how the horde was after there defeat. I'm not talking about x-men the movie I mean the structure of the plot, good mutants, bad mutants, other's hate them regardless of whatever side there on, good mutants sometimes go bad, some bad mutants sometimes go good. I find some solid comparison for the marvel mutants to the orcs nowadays we play as.

And I don't, so drop the bad comparison.

if anything it's the forsaken who resemble mutants more closely.
because mutants start as ordinary humans with normal lives, but along the way gain super-powers and are discriminated as a result.
Orcs weren't humans who then changed, they have been orcs since ever, and the reason they are discriminated is simply for what their ancestors did in the first and second war.
Forsakens used to be average joe humans, who were pretty normal, untill they were killed, they never chose to become undead, they were forced to be undead, and after becoming undead they were discriminated hated and feared by any other human in the world.

Orcs were always orcs, true. But what we play are a midpoint between Mag'har and fel orcs. They're damaged by fel energy—not in precisely the same way as Broken, but it's somewhat similar.

Fel in body, pure in spirit.More or less. Green-skinned orcs are physically altered (aside from being green, they're supposed to be a bit more heavily built), and possibly somewhat quicker-tempered as a rule (not that a newcomer to the setting would guess if Squeal was their point of reference on Mag'har). But they're no longer being driven bat-guano crazy by a bad pit-fiend blood habit.

You know, I'd wish they would write up the story of the first contact between the Draenei and the Orcs; would be an interesting read.

How much do we wish they'd write up at this point?A helluva lot.
Quixos at the Awful Forums tried, but I think he had to resort to a lot of guesswork and fell into some misconceptions.
